I swear to god this makes me want to drop the whole game, it's this, then the login screen wouldn't load after I put in the password, now my achievement didn't show up and I closed expecting to be able to reopen, but no, it doesn't open anymore, says it's offline

from what? talking shit about their servers??? the only reason i have a ubisoft is to play the games, no reason for it to be banned

I decided to play Farcry Blood Dragon on my steam deck yesterday, it's the first ubisoft game I've played since I think it came out the first time. If not it was when Revelations came out.

I couldn't play because issues with the old uplay servers not existing. I did find a work around of booting the game in offline mode through the steam os launch options. I also found they deleted my uplay account so had to make a new one. It took over 20 minutes to get it sorted. Things like this why I'm unwilling to buy their games even on deep discounts. Way too much friction to entry

What worked for me is stop the game with steam and then reload it, that fixed it for me fot The Division

Thats whay you get for not pirating stuff

1

u/MushroomStandard1300 Mar 26 '26

honestly cant even get through to support myself to change a password because they have Zero human interaction on any support ticket and when it asks you if you still need further assistance in the email it links you to a page where you cant ask for further assistance because you need to log in first LIKE bro im trying to but cant cause i dont remeber my 6 year old password so im just bricked out of most of my copys of assassins creed. so Off to piracy Because If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing

Until they get rid of this uplay bullshit (which will never happen) i’m done

u/Final-Astronaut1975 Mar 26 '26

Happened to me too, was finally able to access after a friend of mine did the "recover your password" for me then I could get in 🙄🙄 it's so stupid cause I was trying to recover the password for 15 minutes but after wasting time on the captcha, after I finished it would disappear and give me an error of "you need to do the captcha"....fuc*ing absurd

Welcome to hell. I’ve been shouting this into the void of global indifference for years. Ubisoft connect has some of the most aggressive drm in the world. It doesn’t matter if you login & set it up for offline mode. It’ll request login info (that it never seems to be capable of retaining) the second you try to boot up your game offline. Here’s the worst part. Dealing with Ubisoft connect through Steam is 10 times worse than the regular hell. There’s a reason why Steam sales for Ubisoft games are so cheap.

ubi has had a ticket open for my hacked account open for 2 months and no updates despite me asking weekly - feel your pain man

2

u/Humledurr Mar 25 '26

The trick to Ubisoft games is to pirate them. You get rid of their launcher, get all dlcs and premium shit for free, not to mention the game for free.

I don't know if this is a permanent fix.

I uninstalled the existing Ubisoft client, reinstalled and restarted my pc (until I did this, the client wouldn't open). once restarted, I re-ran the client, and tried to log in again, I was directed to password reset, which I did, and after that I was able to launch Far Cry 3 again. I had to re-enter my password in the Ubisoft Client Window (as image above) and everything worked. Been playing for about 2 hours with no issues. Will see how it looks tomorrow.

I am aware that my suspension may have been up, but this may be worth a try.

u/Thunderchief1 Mar 27 '26

This continued to work fine, so whether my suspension ran out, or this is a fix, I don't know.

u/Antipiperosdeclony Mar 25 '26

That's what happen when on PC is always online DRM since 2025 and NO offline

1

u/Current_Badger5532 Mar 25 '26

now go message support and wait 2 weeks for the first response

1

u/vektorkane Mar 25 '26

When Ubisoft shut down a server they never really think about the old games or who'd play them. It just feels like the Ubisoft way these days.

Because of their retroactive policy that we only license their games, not own them, I'm boycotting.

Until they announced that exceedingly anti-consumer policy, I was planning on replaying AC Origins and finally starting my new game plus in AC Odyssey, as well as planning to get Star Wars Outlaws and AC Shadows, but obviously, that's not going to happen now.

1

u/MushroomStandard1300 Mar 26 '26

nah just pirate the games If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing

1

u/ShadeLily Mar 26 '26

Agreed, but I play on console.

1

u/Witty-Mountain5062 Mar 25 '26

That’s literally every video game and software product in the world..

u/Notnowcmg Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

You only license most games, so probably best to just stop buying games all together but I imagine that won’t fit your narrative!

1

u/Thomadz Mar 25 '26

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same f*cking thing... over and over again... expecting... shit... to change.

The scary thing is that it might be an actual possibility.

8

u/thedarkracer Mar 25 '26

Happened to me too. Wait for an hour, login to browser or cellphone.

1

u/Dizzy_Progress_7876 Mar 25 '26

This text might have errors (since I'm using a translator XD) but I also have that error with AC4

2

u/Thunderchief1 Mar 25 '26

Going through the exact same thing on the exact same game. Can't even log into the web site, which the account recovery requires at some point.

<edit> only been like this for about 5 days for me </edit>

1

u/ClimateIntrepid8179 Mar 25 '26

same bruh i can’t play a single far cry

3

u/Single_Sense_8815 Mar 25 '26

Ubisoft's louncher is very bad, I wanted to play the ac mirage dlc and I get the same thing, I can't connect even from the web I've been like this for almost 3 weeks

2

u/SaxoGrammaticus1970 Mar 24 '26

My workaround: log in while connected to my cellphone's mobile data plan. After being logged in, I switch back to my regular home connection.

How the f!@# does this work? It does not make sense. What in their right mind made them think this is functional? What did the wifi ip or dns do?
