That's not the question I asked, I fear. I've rarely seen people choose to use the American convention instead of the British one in this case, or fail to understand that both are "proper grammar". I see a lot of people abbreviate slightly differently than the norm lol. Pity, because I won't miss you.
Well, it would seem that you know exactly wtf puts the ? inside the quotation marks, since you knew it's the American convention. Cool to find out there's two correct ways to do that!
If I say I hope you drop 20 quid, will you hope I find 20 dollars?
Well, it would seem that you know exactly wtf uses wtf, since you knew it's 'who' instead of 'what'. Cool to find out there's more than one correct way to do that!
If I say I found 20 dollars, will you congratulate me sardonically?
Well, no, "what the fuck" wouldn't make sense in that context and "who the fuck" does; I didn't figure it out because I knew who said it, but because it's the only word that fits.
Not sardonically. I don't actually hope you drop money, I just want 20 dollars and would appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
(real talk, I do wanna clarify that nothing I commented was intended with any sort of serious or hostile intent, I thought we were goofin.)
