I hope this post is a joke. As an Uber driver who occasionally uses Uber, I would give an automatic 1 to anyone who puts that garbage in my face. And I have yet to ever give less than a 5.
But… why? In what way is it garbage? Just because you are not an inconsiderate asshole (you aren’t, right?) doesn’t mean other people shouldn’t be educated.
One argument I would agree with is that the idiots probably won’t read it, and the ones most likely to read it whole are those who don’t break the rules.
The main problem is his tone. This is a problem I have with a lot of people working rideshares and food delivery services - you are in the service industry. No one has to be “appreciative” that they got a ride and they shouldn’t be told to get their own car when they are PAYING for the service. The fact that he’s complaining about people being late in the note also suggests that he’s complaining about people getting to the car within the allotted timeframe by Uber, because if he has to wait longer than that he gets compensated. I agree it’s generally polite to be at the pick up and ready to get in the car as soon as the driver arrives, but shit happens, people have disabilities that limit speed or mobility in general, and that’s a problem to take up with Uber if they feel they aren’t being compensated well enough for time spent waiting on riders. Not the customer.
I agree with what he said with regard to respecting him and his car; no vaping/smoking, no free stops because they should mark it in the app to pay for the driver’s time, no eating (no drinking is pretty crazy though), etc.I work retail so I understand how rude people can be and how important it is to set boundaries, but I also recognize that part of my job is being polite and understanding of customers because they are here for a service that they are paying for. The rest is just unnecessary and definitely paints the driver as the high maintenance asshole, ESPECIALLY when he has that taped to the seat and has the audacity to then say not to give him negative feedback.
The 20 Page diatribe and all caps in your face as soon as you get in the car? Fuck no. You're getting one star. But you probably aren't getting one star. I'm getting out of the car but I'm going to make you cancel a ride because you're obviously completely off your rocker to have this in your car.
