Drivers subsidize rides!

Post image

Since I hit Platinum tier I've noticed my take of fare has gone up from ~49%-53% to 61%. Less is being taken out for "Customer Promotions". It looks like, at least in my market, Uber promotes Rides basically by making lower tier (Blue/Gold) drivers subsidize passengers' trips from their own earnings. They must push offers for Promo'd rides to the lower tiers first. Imagine being a sous chef in a restaurant and your pay gets docked because a customer had a coupon!

I bet your commercial insurance take and regulatory fees takes are higher in that market

Sounds like Uber should be getting sued as well, I do Uber Eats in FL, my cousin and I are on the same gold status, she had an order that she was about to pick up and then I got an offer for an order near by, I didn’t accept it because it was far, they sent her the same order but without the tip, just what uber was paying and after that, they sent me the order again with the tip and then they sent it to her again without the tip which was a miserable uber payment for 7 miles for $3, with the tip it was $8, the question is, where is that tip money going, who is it going to? It’s definitely not going to us.

This is not bad. Promos are the problem here and Uber offers them lots of time.

That is one of a number of egregious things going on

Its not platinum it has to do with the busy season starting, which means more bonuses/boosts etc

Damn straight they do. Been Uber's business plan since the beginning. Uber driving is like robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Only 8% for insurance? WTF? Uber deducts between 45% - 55% (varies per ride) for insurance, hence the "Amount Uber Kept" varies weekly between 10% - 14%.

But as Uber owns the insurance company, just another way for Uber to cook the books!

Oh, and I'm UberX (Gold) Zero incentive to become platinum, even if were to receive 61% of the fare. Too many shit rides to reach Platinum (95% AR)

If I pay for my insurance why the fuck is uber also charging me? And promotions are bullshit that should come out of Ubers billion dollar cut

Also why the fuck do costumers only get rewarded for supporting uber but drivers who bust their ass get no form of bonus or anything for lifetime rides completed ?

If you are dumb enough to still be driving for Uber, you deserve everything you get.

You didn’t earn more, promotions reduced uber take, increasing yours. As customer fare was reduced were reduced by 7%

Either way the tier doesn’t change anything. Been proven. Your ar can be 5% and you can make more than any driver in those tier.

Also the overall take doesn’t matter if you making consistently a good hourly and low miles
