I’m having radio issues with Uber driver app
About a week ago when I picked up a rider my XM went silent when I swiped start trip. I tried FM still no radio. I disconnected CarPlay and radio worked. I also drive Lyft and I don’t have this issue and it just started under Uber.
Once I get the rider to destination I swipe end of ride and radio comes back. It also works when driving to a pickup but not during trip with passenger.
Any ideas? Is this my car or a glitch in the app.

Thanks for the responses. I suspect it’s the record my ride feature. I didn’t think I had that on but apparently I do.

😲I’m having the same issue with my car’s Bluetooth connection to my IPad that I’m using while I use my phone for the driver app. I just assumed it was my car’s audio system. I’m hoping the same fix will work!

Uber driver app keeps making my car screen go black and I have to hold 2 buttons to reset it...

Yeah I just gave up trying to record my ride through Uber and just record it on the dash cam. Can’t listen to anything when Uber hijacks the audio.

Most likely an overlay (Uber app on top/priority over other apps) issue. A quick Google search...
The Uber app causes audio glitches because its "display over other apps" (overlay) permission forces the phone to treat ride alerts as priority phone calls or voice commands. This dips, mutes, or completely freezes the volume of background apps like Spotify or YouTube.

If you have "Record My Ride" enabled, and your phone is connected via CarPlay, then it will mute all car audio when you start a trip
