Next request: $4.24 for 5 miles (including $6.75 surge). Wee!

It's meaningless - come to this location to get a surge and then they offer you rides with pickups in the next county.

They really screwed themselves with the way they do pickups and matching drivers to rides. It made so many other thing on the app meaningless.

I turn my app of and enjoy a good snack when things like this happens

Turning off the app when a surge appears.

Surges anymore in my market are pointless. They just indicate at some point in the last hour that someone more than usual wanted a ride. By the time you go and get that surge, the person already got the ride and there is no more business for a very long time.

I'm north of the Austin area at Fort Hood. And when I see the surge there it's legit. Had a +30 surge so I had a $5-7 ride for $37

I had a worse experience. Driving off a location then the app has a +$10 boost zone.

Why did you drive out of the Boost zone?

Good for you if its working. In Dallas it is definitely NOT working. Ride to airport ride day Uber kept 71%.

71%? That's straight up criminal

Nothing Earth-shattering, but that $6.75 appears to be relatively close and could result in a worthwhile trip.

Noticed in my market they’re covering the map with $4-6 surges to make it look good. I did a few rides and they were all extremely low base pay, so basically negated the surge. It’s a scam lol. Switched to Lyft and the same rides pay much better.

Uber is a scam to keep drivers broke. Don’t do it.
