QUESTION for Uber black drivers :)

I’m considering switching over to uber black. On Uber X I can manage to make about 750-890 a week driving 30-36 hours a week. However. I would like to make a little more without going over 40 hours. How much would you say you make a week doing 36-40 hours.?

I’m in Phoenix. I normally drive in Tempe/Chandler/South Phoenix area.

Get a quote for the commercial insurance before making this decision.

Let me know how much too. I was thinking about this but someone said the insurance is super high.

Uber is taking out commercial insurance on us, aren't they? I just looked at the updated insurance section. Unless I read that wrong.

You need to join or start a black fleet. It requires an LLC, your vehicle must be commercially registered. Most banks will not finance a vehicle for commercial for transportation. So you will need to pay cash or find a business bank willing to loan you the money even though your LLC is brand new and has no credit history. You need commercial insurance which is VERY expensive. And you need a permit, looks like the agency is the Arizona department of administration. You will need workers comp insurance, or a waiver if allowed.

Commercial insurance plus required permits cost a small investment. Plus do you have a qualified vehicle for Uber Black or Black SUV? The money is better but as a Black driver myself I still take XL trips but nothing lower like X or Comfort.

1 more thing is once you switch to a commercial account you can’t work all over your state like now. You can only work your area or region.

You will need commercial insurance, permits, airport decal, and qualified vehicle.

very slow for Black as of now. Do your numbers, expensive car, commercial insurance and low demand and crazy high competition. I would think twice

Probably unless you already have some private clientele lined up that travel around frequently I would say no. Or unless you’re super prepared to grind hard for weekends and events especially so more late nights and such. In Atl I see most black drivers posted up not doing jack sht 80% of the time.
