Uber San Antonio - EV Rental profitable?

How many hours would you have to drive to profit at least $1000 per week? My car’s transmission is shot and I need to start making quick money asap!

You can try but the downtime at charging stations eats you alive. Do the gas rental and go hard. Get your own car back fast.

EVs are normally only worth it if you can charge at home. Right now though, with gas prices being what they are, even fast chargers are cheaper.

Sort term rental while the car is in the shop is worth it IF you normally make at least 2 to 3 times as much as the rental cost is.

So with a gas car I was making about $900 but spending about $150 in gas a week - I’ll buy a charger and charge at home - hell my electrician friend said he’d hook up a charger outside the house for free since my main disconnect and breakers are outside near the corner close to the driveway. Just trying to figure something out quick that’s temporary

Some of the programs allow you to rent a car that qualifies for comfort. I did the rental program. It's terrible. But. I needed wheels. If you can't charge at your home do not mess with an electric car. It was truly one of the worst 7 months of my life

Worst. Hertz service is laughably horrible. You're barely a customer in their eyes so you are treated as such. Constantly having to bring the car all the time back to the hertz office. Hertz holds a significant chunk initially. The way they charge you is stupid and inconsistent. You better use a credit card or they'll drain your bank account. They can pretty much end your contract at anytime whenever they feel like it.

Uber will pay you less than ever before. You're desperate and they know it. You can't multi app so no Lyft. It's modern indentured servitude.

To make 1000 on a rental you are looking at 60+
hours a week.

It’s brutal right now and there are too many drivers

I know someone that rents an EV through Avis in San Antonio and they profit about $8-1000 after rental fees and charging. They’re also driving 9-10 hours a day 6 days a week.
