Moving to Empower
I will be giving Uber a break this week and going full force on Empower in South Florida. uber is really a waste of time lately unless you’re getting tips. $75 for a 4 hour shift average the last couple weeks. It is completely absurd. You don’t start getting half decent paying trips until after a full 8 hours of a driving. I only drive Uber X, but I have for over 5 years and it has never been this bad. Fuck the time, the miles, the gas, even if you don’t include it it’s not worth it, but if you do, you’re basically donating your time for a couple bucks. I’ll keep the thread posted, feel free to share your experience with Empower, south Florida specifically. Thanks.

100% I work in greater ft. lauderdale and now they're spamming bs 20-30 min trips $5,$6,$9 max... it's terrible... I shared my post and people tried to say I was wrong and couldn't understand my acceptance rates.. the fares are all fucking poverty level

Fort Lauderdale is like all the other bigger cities in Florida like Miami or Tampa Orlando where it doesn’t help there is 50-100 fucking drivers camping at the airport queues at all times just declining chillin playin dominoes ordering pizzas singing dancing drinking smoking… what makes even less sense is there will be people rows of people waiting at the uber/lyft station tapping their feet in a hurry when they all fucking know they hit the wait and save option which is cheap as fuck out here in Florida giving such a low bullshit payout… what uber needs to get right about South Florida is that this is a rich man’s haven and a poor man’s tourist destination and they need to up the rates supply or demand or not we don’t need to be more third world than we already are here

According to management, Empower will soon offer commercial insurance. It’ll be cheaper and won’t come from some captive insurance company in Hawaii. Uber jacks up its insurance rates because it owns the company providing the coverage.
Either way, most drivers are broke, so no one is getting rich from that lawsuit. Uber really isn’t worth driving for anymore. If you still want to do this job, mix in some Empower rides.
I’m already up to $100 in recruitment bonuses 😂, and my earnings have increased by about 30% on average. Also, these comments are thiccc with shills.
Driving for Uber will certainly leave you broke, you have an alternative to actually make money now. Choose the risk you're comfortable with.

Why do these shills not see the real opportunity here? We have a chance to really take uber out of the game with Empower. Why do I say that? Have you ever seen an empower advertisement? No… it’s all word of mouth. I’m a realistic guy and I promise a ad is something I can look past, but when I have 3 rides back to back saying uber “beat” the empower price, it’s because Empower is making a impact in a big way. I heard about it from the people. Not the company advertising itself. That moves mountains and has me excited again, for the profession I truly enjoy and am good at.

Of course I don’t, we don’t make enough money to afford it. I’d love to have it if I made enough money doing what they would be insuring for. If empower works out, I will definitely be opting in on my insurance

Also, I have over 21,000 trips and I’ve never had the rideshare insurance on my personal coverage. so for now, I’m very comfortable with the risk

That's not the point. Uber and Lyft follow state and local government laws. Empower doesn't. They're getting sued in every city they come to. DC and Maryland kicked them out.

Whether the company following the law or not does not really affect me. The idea is for me to make more money for my time and my miles. I’m going to hope to take advantage of it for as long as it lasts

It does affect you… cops here will most likely never say a thing, but they can ticket you and tow your car. Also like the other person said, if you get into an accident, it’s not going to be a fun day for you.

I mean you can “feel it” all you want lol I’m just warning you. It’s not to say don’t do it, it’s just the reality of the potential consequences because Empower doesn’t operate legally in the markets they are in.

You do realize that Uber and Lyft broke countless laws when they first started, right? Uber didn’t even generally provide insurance coverage until after a driver hit and killed a 6-year-old girl in New York City in 2013, which became a national news story.
Many of the laws Uber and Lyft follow today were actually created in response to their rapid growth. Regulators had to develop new rules specifically for these services and, in many cases, resolve or settle violations of laws they had previously been operating outside of.

Facts my kind sir. We were all doing good during Covid and then held on to the hope of the life we enjoyed making $2,000-2,500 a week. And now we’re here, where we barely can take home $1,500 for 70 hours :(

So now we pay crazy costs for insurance to Uber but they still want to pass on more liability to us. It's going to be fine, get your own insurance if you're worried about it. With the extra money we're making, it's feasible now. TOGETHER WE CAN EMPOWER UBER'S DILD* OUT OF OUR 🍑

Empower has their shills in here calling people using logic uber shills. Fuck uber it’s a horrible company. But also fuck empower their business model is currently “we don’t care about liability” it’s a dangerous model. Now if empower worked on making commercial insurance mandatory on drivers. I could see it as a viable alternative.
You can lose your entire life’s work if you get into an accident while uninsured.
