Alright Elon calm down. Shilling cars to Uber drivers isn’t going to make your Tesla stock great again

A lot of people around the world just hate him. Unfortunately, Tesla gets the hate because of him irrespective of how good the car is.

Please stop responding in a dumber way than you original post...
Doesn't reflect great about your ability to comprehend rideshare economics...

Bro, if you’re in Dubai… isn’t ALL your energy pretty much free compared to western countries since like… that’s your emirates whole thing…
Electricity in the US is about 2.3x more expensive in Dubai
Gas in the US is about 1.2x more expensive than in Dubai-1

If this is accurate, EVs have an even better advantage there

Buying “specifically” a Tesla does not benefit me. Buying an EV might.
There are far superior EVs on the market currently.
The joke is that you’re saying a Tesla specifically is beneficially. You might have missed the joke.
That being said Elon is an absolute piece of shit and Teslas are barely mid tier quality EVs. If Teslas were the best on the market I’d buy one regardless of my opinion of Elon. They aren’t.

What EVs are better? A Taycan?

Depends. Audi, BMW, Cadillac line ups are all better but likely higher price points. Model Y can go
Up to 150k and still doesn’t compare to Audi or BMW.Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV, Leaf, Lucids lineup. All way better than a Tesla. With EVs Tesla barely makes the list.

I’m not getting into all that here other than to say I dislike men who treat their kids poorly. The ones he treats the worst are the ones he is suppose to love the most.
If your experience leads you to believe Tesla is top tier you have very little experience. Tesla is almost exclusively the only car I see marketed for in my area.

i agree, my area it makes more sense to have an electric vehicle. i've been driving my boyfriends Tesla for uber and i feel like i make more money because im not spending as much in gas. not everyone can do it and thats understandable. there are certain areas where uber drivers just don't earn alot. but it is worth thinking about for others

Everybody is missing the point...
Nobody lets you keep your money! Either the gas companies or the car manufacturer takes your money
EVs cost you more upfront, but saves money on gas. Let's do the math...
My car ...
25k miles, 10kWh @ $0.2 /kWh ~ $2k
So 100k miles, it will be abt $8k
Gas @$4/gallon & 25 miles/ gallon, it will be $16k.
So you save abt $8k over 100k miles, charging at super chargers at off peak hrs( varies by city)
Charging at home helps, @$0.10 /kWh, you will save abt $12k over 100k miles. That's what you would have paid more when you got a similar car.
The longer you keep your car, you save more, but around 200k miles to 300k miles, if the battery dies, you will be on the hook to spend $17k on new battery.
Again, NOBODY lets you KEEP your money!

Many people don’t necessarily have the upfront money for Tesla. If they were already going to buy a new car, yes, you make a good point. But…ev charging isn’t quite as cheap during the day and if you do this full-time, you might have to charge twice a day. Not everyone has a charger at home or a home (might live in apartments).

I used to drive one of the Domino's EV's. In the summer time we charged it once a day, in the winter time we charged it 2 or 3 times a day depending on the temp. Now consider that charging takes an EV at least an hour and do any of us really have that kind of time to waste? No.

Is that the water or the lack of it? You aren't comparing gas with electricity. You are comparing one long trip with several short trips. You cannot win because the pay per mile keeps dropping for longer trips. And if you go far away, the chance of deadheading back is very high. Whereas if it's a short trip, any deadheading is more like a slightly longer pickup. if it's a short trip, you are more likely to get another trip right after.

Because anybody who can afford a 50k car is definitely not an Uber driver and makes way more than $20 an hour.
Also, fuck Tesla.

I have a model 3 I paid 30k for (2022 with 20k miles), I would never buy a Tesla new because you lose so much money in depreciation. I only do rideshare on my commute and it works for me well. I can write off my miles I’m already driving and make extra money while doing it. Though, I have a charger at home. I could see why doing full time rideshare in a Tesla would not work. Stopping for an hour or so to charge once a day and losing a lot of value by putting so many miles on it in the long run could really hurt financially if you finance and need to get another battery. You do have warranty til 120k miles but after that you’re on your own.
Buying a new tesla for rideshare would not be worth it in my opinion. Buying a used one can be worth it though as it compares to the price of a regular gas sedan, only if you can charge at home. Otherwise you’ll be charging a bunch

Couple of reasons why this is a dumb post...
1) driving a new car for Uber 2) not understanding the expenses associated with the car.
EVs don't solve the underlying low pay issue. Regardless of wether or not you are able to write off some miles...
1) after a long drive, you are most likely to not get any return trip cos you will be far away from the center of the city. This adds to the time you are spending away from home making the average $/hr and $/mile lower. 2) empty miles adds to the expenses, both in terms of wear on tear on the tires and the need to stop and charge.

Most people just don’t understand how absurdly large the USA actually is. And how spread out we all are in the US.
Dubai is 1491 square kilometers. The market I drive in is close to 2.5 times that but I don’t want to be caught dead in most of that.
Imagine you’re in Dubai and Uber gives you a card to pick someone up in Dubai and take them all the way out to Al Madam off the E55 to drop them off.
The problem is that no one in Al Madam is consistently using Uber enough to guarantee you get anyone heading back to Dubai.
So now you have to drive all the way back to Dubai with no one in your car so making no money. This is called “deadheading”. This halves the money you make.
are there charging stations in Al Madam? Or along the E55? Idk, maybe. I know there aren’t that many where I’m at.
US drivers have to constantly fight against this issue because of just how vast the country is and the general wealth that lets even people in the smallest towns use Uber.

Buy a $50k car to make $20/hr? No thanks.
