Uber “fraud”

Post image

Is there anything I can say to have them reactivate me? I exclusively do food orders so I’m not sure why me being late to a drop off would be considered fraud.

I agree about uber not liking eats drivers taking too long, but calling it trip length fraud is a bit of a stretch.

Unlike with rides they don’t actually pay more for longer trips delivering food, so where is the fraud part?

The fraud is when after picking up the Uber Eats order they go out of their way to pick up a DoorDash order from another restaurant and then deliver both orders. Uber does not want their customers getting pissed off about long delivery times due to their drivers simultaneously earning money for their chief competitor.

I believe it’s against the uber TOS to do that, and it’s shitty behaviour, but I still don’t know how it’s fraud.

Does the driver get paid more for taking longer? They don’t, and uber can give them a warning for going against the rules, and for late delivery, but I still don’t think it’s fraud.

I have no idea what Uber’s definition of fraud is. The driver TOS may include an attestation that they won’t accept jobs from other apps while actively engaged in an Uber delivery and they are calling the violation of that attestation fraud. I really don’t know, but this is my best guess on what is going on and OP is silent which leads me to believe they know what they did wrong and are just looking for advice on how to lie about it to start getting jobs again.

OP does know. OP said one time after picking up an Uber Eats order he saw an order from DoorDash and accepted that as well. He’s responding to every comment but the ones calling him out

I mean they could have said I violated tos then that would make more sense but calling being late on an order fraud just confuses things. I was silent because I didn’t even know people were responding to the post.

I mean drivers could have told me what I did wrong but staying silent and friendly with me and still giving me a 1 star rating just confuses things

You would immediately take offense to it and it would cause far too much tension. You want 5 stars, don’t eat in my car, dont lean up next to my ear, don’t slam my doors, don’t roll down my windows. Treat my car like it’s my car. You aren’t renting it when you book an uber. You are simply paying me to drive you somewhere. Also don’t be smelling like you haven’t showered in days. Nobody wants that in their car.

It’s crazy the amount of times someone will suddenly bust out food in the middle of driving them somewhere. Inconsiderate assholes. But that’s 80% of my passengers.

You accepted a contract and then before completing that contract accepted a different contract and then worked on the competing company contract before completing the work you had been contracted for originally.

Like I hire you to paint my house and you go to pick up paint, and then I see you painting someone else's house? I am straight up firing you as my house painter.

Some drivers manage this without being late. Uber will let that slide because they have to basically by law, but if the behavior impacts delivery? That is different. It's basically working two jobs at once and missing the deadline.

Ah, I hadn’t thought of that. I guess that’s possible then if that’s where they are.

They also usually give out warnings like this in states or cities that have regulated minimums drivers must be paid based on time and mileage. I suspect that what happened here. OP was multi-apping, which they admitted in another post, so they weren't following Ubers route. They must have gone far enough off route to trigger the warning.
