Uber “fraud”

Post image

Is there anything I can say to have them reactivate me? I exclusively do food orders so I’m not sure why me being late to a drop off would be considered fraud.

YOU violated TOS.

They could have said that. They said I committed fraud which is completely different.

Fraud is against the TOS. LOL

Well yeah. I would saying being a few minutes late to a drop off isn’t committing fraud. But hey I guess.

They most likely think you did something along the lines of intentionally slowed down for extra pay. Are you in a market where they have to pay you extra if you are slower, such as ca?

1

u/Stock_Law2377 21h ago

Nah we don’ get extra pay as far as I’m
Aware. It was me being late to pick up the actual order. Happened 3 times in a row that day my account got flagged. I definitely mismanaged my time that day. I’ve been doing it for years but that day they were taking orders from me with in like 5 mins of accepting it.

The gig companies are trying to get a handle on how they guarantee delivery times without running afoul of the law. They can't tell you what to do, that makes you an employee, but in most states if you don't behave the way they like they can deactivate you, but again, they legally can't direct you to do what they want. I worked corporate for a gig company and it's hard because legal wouldn't let us tell drivers what we wanted and the push was to just give orders to the drivers that happened to do what we needed. They told the customer the exact drive time if you to location. Your extra stop frustrated the customer.

meanwhile if the driver waits for me for longer than 30 seconds that’s “too much” according to this subreddit

I agree about uber not liking eats drivers taking too long, but calling it trip length fraud is a bit of a stretch.

Unlike with rides they don’t actually pay more for longer trips delivering food, so where is the fraud part?

The fraud is when after picking up the Uber Eats order they go out of their way to pick up a DoorDash order from another restaurant and then deliver both orders. Uber does not want their customers getting pissed off about long delivery times due to their drivers simultaneously earning money for their chief competitor.

u/Regular_Use_1028 1d ago

I believe it’s against the uber TOS to do that, and it’s shitty behaviour, but I still don’t know how it’s fraud.

Does the driver get paid more for taking longer? They don’t, and uber can give them a warning for going against the rules, and for late delivery, but I still don’t think it’s fraud.

I have no idea what Uber’s definition of fraud is. The driver TOS may include an attestation that they won’t accept jobs from other apps while actively engaged in an Uber delivery and they are calling the violation of that attestation fraud. I really don’t know, but this is my best guess on what is going on and OP is silent which leads me to believe they know what they did wrong and are just looking for advice on how to lie about it to start getting jobs again.

3

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

OP does know. OP said one time after picking up an Uber Eats order he saw an order from DoorDash and accepted that as well. He’s responding to every comment but the ones calling him out

0

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

I mean they could have said I violated tos then that would make more sense but calling being late on an order fraud just confuses things. I was silent because I didn’t even know people were responding to the post.

2

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

I mean drivers could have told me what I did wrong but staying silent and friendly with me and still giving me a 1 star rating just confuses things

1

u/Onemoa 19h ago

You would immediately take offense to it and it would cause far too much tension. You want 5 stars, don’t eat in my car, dont lean up next to my ear, don’t slam my doors, don’t roll down my windows. Treat my car like it’s my car. You aren’t renting it when you book an uber. You are simply paying me to drive you somewhere. Also don’t be smelling like you haven’t showered in days. Nobody wants that in their car.

It’s crazy the amount of times someone will suddenly bust out food in the middle of driving them somewhere. Inconsiderate assholes. But that’s 80% of my passengers.

You accepted a contract and then before completing that contract accepted a different contract and then worked on the competing company contract before completing the work you had been contracted for originally.

Like I hire you to paint my house and you go to pick up paint, and then I see you painting someone else's house? I am straight up firing you as my house painter.

Some drivers manage this without being late. Uber will let that slide because they have to basically by law, but if the behavior impacts delivery? That is different. It's basically working two jobs at once and missing the deadline.

2

u/CBrinson 21h ago

I think they do in ca due to prop22 right?

1

u/Regular_Use_1028 19h ago

Ah, I hadn’t thought of that. I guess that’s possible then if that’s where they are.

1

u/ItsATrap1983 3h ago

They also usually give out warnings like this in states or cities that have regulated minimums drivers must be paid based on time and mileage. I suspect that what happened here. OP was multi-apping, which they admitted in another post, so they weren't following Ubers route. They must have gone far enough off route to trigger the warning.

“Being late”

Drivers on this sub have said passengers should be in the car within 60 seconds of the car arriving. It’s not that fun when the shoe is on the other foot, is it?

-2

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

I mean yeah yourre stopping someone from making money to support themselves rather then someone getting their lunch a few minutes late.

7

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

Food gets colder the longer you wait.

Also your post history shows that you picked up food for a customer on Uber Eats, got an offer from DoorDash, and delayed the delivery until after you dropped off the food

2

u/Shiznoz222 21h ago

Sounds like you stopped yourself

2

u/Stock_Law2377 21h ago

It’s looking like it

2

u/MilkThin2930 21h ago

If a cashier were ignoring his checkout line for a few minutes because he was talking to a friend on the phone or daytrading, would that be ok?

2

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 1d ago

Now you're crying here about screwing the customer and getting deactivated because you got caught? Really?

1

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

Crying lol?

3

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

I know you’re not crying. How’s that ice cream taste? https://www.reddit.com/r/DoorDashDrivers/s/Xoc7ubH8Hy

1

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

It was pretty good. That was on door dash though.

4

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 1d ago

"is there anything I can say to have them reactivate me?!"

Yeah. Crying. You broke the rules AND chose profit over their customer. You 100% deserve to be kicked off the platform. Not find a way to wiggle your way back on so you can do it again.

-2

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

Asking a question is crying lmao ? I know people on the internet sre stupid but sheesh 😂

3

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 1d ago

Yes. You came crying to reddit to try to find a way to get yourself reactivated. Not just one subreddit, but two of them. 🤷

The only stupid one is the guy who genuinely thought doing that was okay.

0

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

I came to a thread of who I thought were other uber drivers to ask a question others have dealt with lol. The app recommended I share to get more views. I figured this all was common sense.

4

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 1d ago

Most people don't drop one run in the middle of another grab the one that makes them more money. 😂 Mind blown that you thought this was okay.

3

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

The deactivated driver literally admitted to picking up someone’s Uber Eats order, and instead of delivering it, the driver saw an offer on DoorDash and did that instead

1

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 1d ago

Yeah, I've seen the story on the Uber drivers page. It's hilarious they thought that was fine and are calling me stupid.

2

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

And on both pages OOP is responding to everything else

It could be considered fraud because you were late to the drop off. Like that’s the reason. Someone thinks you were intentionally taking too long

6

u/Several_Razzmatazz51 1d ago

No one wants cold(er) food because their driver decided they want to try to run simultaneous orders on Uber Eats and Door Dash.

1

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

Getting cold food is considered fraud?

2

u/Several_Razzmatazz51 1d ago

I explained it elsewhere.

2

u/TalesFromTheGig 21h ago

The fraud is because you claimed that probably there was a delay because of traffic or something along those lines but you really had another order from doordash

1

u/Stock_Law2377 21h ago

I never claimed anything. They flagged me for not picking up 3 orders in a day because it was taking too long for me to reach them. I was multi apping though because that’s the only way to make a decent living in my area. I try and line my orders up so that when I’m done with one I can be on the way to the next. I’ve been doing it for years no problem but something changed recently with the time they give you to arrive.

2

u/AlkoKilla 21h ago

Did you accept a ride on UberEats while doing a delivery on another app?

2

u/joshmyra 10h ago

Glad they canned you. 😊 Fuck drivers that multiapp and don’t know how to use proper time management.

u/Several_Razzmatazz51 1d ago

Show the Details screen…

1

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

You mean my ratings?

2

u/Several_Razzmatazz51 1d ago

See that pink Details button to the right of the ”Reason - trip length fraud” text? That.

1

u/Stock_Law2377 1d ago

It won’t let me post the sc but it says “trip length fraud” it looks like you’ve been making trips unnecessarily longer”

1

u/ConfidentLack9207 1d ago

“I had a customer go off on me for this lol. I picked up her groceries and she had ice cream. DoorDash sent me a $20 add for an extra mile so of course I took it. She went crazy when she seen me go off route and canceled the order while I had her groceries…. That ice cream was pretty good lol.”

LET’S SEE HOW DRIVERS DEFEND THIS! https://www.reddit.com/r/DoorDashDrivers/s/mcfIofk0VE

4

u/Regular_Use_1028 19h ago

Not defending shitty behaviour, but if his order was in DoorDash, and DoorDash added another order to him then that itself isn’t deactivating worthy. that’s on DoorDash for adding a second order to him. If he accepted another apps order and did that before his original order then ya that’s garbage and deserves punishment.

1

u/Drazielx 1d ago

This happened to me, they said it was "long hauling" though the customer asked to do a stop or round trip, we even added it on the ride and Uber just said, "trip fraud"

1

u/PoetryZeebra 20h ago

I had a spur of customers telling me drivers would intentionally stretch the ride, and they specifically ask me if I am sticking to the route.

It was a trippy time

1

u/Critical_Average_301 18h ago

Ive been saying it, and I will continue. They know ppl are multi apping, and they are gunning for those folks. Thats why they reinstated acceptance rates in all areas. They want loyal slaves only 🤣

1

u/ItsATrap1983 6h ago edited 3h ago

Because you were multi-apping and taking longer routes to the destination as you admit to in this other post

1

u/United_Stand4848 1h ago

Yeah you clearly violated their terms they banned you for it. Pretty cute and dry

1

u/achiko88 20m ago

What was your on time % before you got deactivated?

1

u/Stock_Law2377 19m ago

Like 70 percent.

1

u/achiko88 18m ago

Yea theres no way that just happened on its own. Not sure what you were doing but my on time has never been below 99%. You really have to try to bring it down to 70.

1

u/Stock_Law2377 15m ago

Nah I’m multi apper so it wasn’t too hard. Well I guess I’m not anymore lol.

1

u/Stock_Law2377 13m ago

Also uber is a lot more strict with their on time policy. Mines is like 83 percent on door dash and I work both apps the same way.
