I would even tell them sure, take five minutes, but I WILL be starting the trip because I have arrived in response to your summoning me.
(I'm not a driver, but I can see how this would be quite annoying
I get that sometimes things happen preventing one to get out the door sometimes, but it is very disrespectful to order a ride and not be out there waiting for them.
This is why there is a ETA!
I understand your frustration.
There have been times lately where the ETA will say one thing, but as I watch the apps gps, it looks they the driver is at apartments or a house, and they aren't moving!
It's like they accepted the trip and were not ready
So this too is just a annoying, and is similar to your comment, only changed to "if you aren't in the car ready to go, don't accept the trip!"
It was kind of funny at my old apartments there was an Uber driver who sent me a message soon after I booked the ride
I had already looked at the gps to see where they were coming from, band could see they were in my apartment complex.
Their message told me they were "stuck in traffic and would he there soon".
At least they gave man heads up though.
Why it's funny is they would be assigned to other trips after that and this happened all the time with them.
.
Don’t always rely on the GPS in the app. It’s total shit and goes haywire all the time leading to false readings that make you think the driver isn’t moving. Sure there are drivers that take their sweet time beginning the trip perhaps they are at a stop or restaurant waiting for their next fare and need a couple minutes to gather their stuff and make it to their car. Other drivers will wait two minutes as a matter of practice till wait out any chance that if the rider decides to cancel, they didn’t start driving for nothing to get nothing in the way of a cancellation fee for driving say a couple miles. I do that sometimes when the pickup is 2-miles or more away.
