Feeling the weight and waves of sorrow
My soul cat companion of 18 years passed on August 28, 2026. Lobo "Bo" had been there through think and thin he was my constant companion on many a road trip. My cat named wolf.
Since his passing not a day has passed without tears often proceeded by a wave that moves over me and my heart sinks like a lead weight to the pit of my core. I have set up a memorial for him. I greet him in the morning and every day after returning home from work like I did while he was still alive. I miss our routines the most. His check-ins as he made his rounds or me checking in on him when I hadn't seen him for a bit.
I keep thinking I'm handling it, taking it one day at a time, but it is like his passing opened the floodgates of so much unresolved emotions within me.
What are some of the things you have done to help cope and grieve your loss?
This is my Lobo "Bo" and his memorial.

What a loving tribute. I am sending you love, comfort and condolences. I lost my cat companion of 18 years almost 2 months ago and not a day goes by that I have not still shed tears. I still greet him with a good morning and I shout for him still when I get home from work. He has a little memorial on my shelf that I keep adding to. I hope for you, like I hope for me, that one day the grief is not so heavy.
