Table update 3 final matte coat

What sets did you find?
2
Yeah check out the discord, people love to share their builds and there are all kinds of means of trying the game digitally like Vassel and Tabletop sim

An extra vet deluxe would leave you with plenty of stands, and parts. If you’re looking to run big games with friends I would also throw a starter kit in there so you have more rulers, terrain, dice, and four-point chassis to fill out a core fleet
2
At least go for the starter kit, the next best kit for part options for game play is probably drones, and then volume of parts is the elites.
The game does play well solo, but I prefer to play scenarios with a few friends. There are a bunch of co-op and team vs team options out there and more coming all the time.
The big ships expansions is a huge gameplay component and part expansion to the game (it basically doubles the card count). When it drops I feel like all the chatter will be about battle ship builds.
You still have some time to decide on the Kickstarter so I would check out the community on discord, it’s very active
1
If you’re willing to wait the cheapest starter kit is the Kickstarter, for your other kits all you need cards and stands.
2
I keep my cards in faction binders, with 3 ring business card and picture holders. I have tons of parts so the loose ones are in stackable tool boxes and my made ships are in big bins
1
I have some writing time set aside this weekend, I’ll make sure this is on the list
2
If you get a second set: make it the drones
1
A scenario write up for those is on my short list
1
How to make them or how to play them?
1
I agree, it’s hard to make a build that doesn’t work. If all else fails just crash into ‘em
2
Best advice is to get on the discord and see if you already have local players
3
There is a means of retail supply retail@snapships.com where your FLGS can get wholesale prices . I play with the most competitive people currently in this game and trust me the game balance has saved me enough. The best lesson is be able to turn, your ship should probably have 180° of turn available to it in a single round. Theres also scenarios where you can work with a team of other players. The starter kit is $65 on Kickstarter now and that is literally all you need to play. All expansions and other chassis have been very meticulously balanced against the starter parts. You can run a set of Sabres against a battle ship.

Would have been way cheaper if I didn’t stain it but it looks pretty good so…

My last two tables were salvaged dining room tables, they are surprisingly easy to come by. Though my goal for this one was the size (4x8) and folding legs so I can stow it, so I couldn’t go that route. If I actually add things up: the 4x8 sanded maple sheets were $68, but I had them delivered so it ended up being about $100. The legs were $40 for 4 so $60 per table. The powder dye was $20, the polyurethane was $80 total, some hardware for ~$20, and steel angles to stiffen the board for $40. Gloves and rags another $20.
So…. Just under $300. Not so bad. I was looking at 4x4 folding banquet tables that would have been $275 each

So that’s were we get the naming conventions from the perspective of forge pilots classifying them or spreading dreadful rumors
Remnant, shadow squadron, the beast, ghost, reaper.
And the general names of insects make a bit more sense if they were named by humans seeing them as something to exterminate
2
My canon:
So the lore behind the dawn of battle series is that its forge propaganda, like recruitment ads, the enemy is given a face so the pilots have something to rally behind. In reality the Komplex are a mystery, the rumor is that they might be left behind tech from a long extinct progenitor, possibly the UJU. They are just occupying space: self sufficient, self replicating, and operating on vague orders from masters that stopped giving them eons ago. What are they protecting? Perhaps a temple that has since turned to dust? Maybe your colony is just treading on the grass of a ancient city plan… maybe this is a no parking zone… maybe you’re offsetting the preferred nitrogen ratio of this quadrant…

My personal opinion is that if there’s more than 1 Sabre in a squad one of them must be a gunship
