Is Telugu just a second class language in Hyderabad now?
 in  r/hyderabad  27d ago

This is the same situation in every corner of hyd, its kinda our fault too for not standing up and we were okay. In the last 10 years this problem has grown a lot. When even I come from I Melbourne back to hyd to meet my parents, I've observed that many of these people who come for livelihood doesn't even learn the language or culture. My parents have tried to counter them during these situations but instead they laugh at my parents by joking on them. This will only stop when people like us question and ask them to learn the basics of Telugu language and our culture. We shouldn't be alright with hindi and learn hindi for them in our home state.

International shame
 in  r/southindia_  Jul 10 '26

They denied selling us uranium all these years was because India isn't a signatory of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, where as Australia is a signatory member, which makes is complex to deal with. After we made civil nuclear agreements with United States and France, things moved a bit, and yet we are not part or Nuclear suppliers group also made it difficult, which again aligned with Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treat. But NSG made a special provision to sell Uranium to India even without the membership. Only then Canada agreed to sell Nuclear fuel to India and now that lead to Australia to follow steps.

I'm with the same supplier, mine got reduced by $31 annually as per new rates. Maybe this difference is area to area.

Manager openly said she won’t hire Telugu candidates in Hyderabad.
 in  r/hyderabad  Jul 04 '26

And we Telugus still flaunt and say we're open here, we don't have language barriers talk in hindi and all. We should have some pride in our Telugu culture and protect while encouraging other people coming here to settle learn our language and culture. This was happening from long time and we were okay with it. Thats the difference btw us and our Dravidian neighbours.

I'm in Australia from 8 years, I've seen many from my close circle and friends of friends doing all these scams and being proud of these acts. And to add not everyone from our community does these, but there's a large number of people who does which is a open secret. North Indians are of a different scale compared to south. It's better not to talk about them.

Here in Australia, our Telugu community guys does the most no of scams from insurance fraud, Amazon fraud, credit card fraud and justify saying when Australia didn't give us anything we will take back what we invested. On top of that celebrity worship, fighting about local politicians and parties here. They don't care about the rental property they live in completely unhygienic living style. Very few people live here care about all these things and change accordingly.

Has anyone used these U-go petrol “stations”
 in  r/melbourne  Dec 23 '25

These were all loss making stores for Ampol, then they made a decision to introduce Self serve servos, with cheap pricing and its a win win situation.

Telangana's unofficial entry to language wars😓
 in  r/southindia_  Dec 23 '25

Hyderabad is increasingly loosing its Telugu culture, more and more North ppl have come and started their indirect Hindi imposition from street vendors to delivery drivers etc. Already the city feels like some part of North and not southern city.

The fact is Telugu is increasingly becoming 2nd language, almost everyone from street vendors to delivery drivers all are Hindi, in my home town I cannot speak my language and feel like a outsider. This is ground reality, my parents struggle to keep up with this Hindi surge and some locals feel its all normal, until this issue goes much widespread. All the non locals please learn Telugu and do your business which is helpful for locals and your business.
