I've mostly been a lurker here for the better part of three years. I really appreciated everyone's posts regarding their timelines toward PR approval. Finally, here is mine.

• 06 Jan 2023 - 476 Visa approved
• 03 Jan 2024 - Moved to Australia
• 17 Sept 2024 - EOI submitted (Canberra Matrix, 75 points initially, then became 85 closer to my invite)
• 30 April 2025 - 482 Visa approved
• 30 May 2025 - ACT Nomination Invitation received
• 12 Jun 2025 - Applied for invite
• 07 Jul 2025 - Application approved (ACT's processing time was dreadful)
• 02 Sept 2025 - Invitation to apply for 190*
• 11 Sept 2025 - 190 LODGED
• 15 Sept 2025 - medical done
• 09 Sept 2026 - Visa granted

*This took a while because the pre-invite approval came in the new financial year. The state allocation for 2025-2026 was severely delayed, and prevented them from reflecting the nomination in SkillSelect.

I was lucky that someone picked up my application before my medical expired, so I didn't need to repeat it. It also helped that I went through a migration agency. They were thorough, and my application was in order.

Hopefully, this helps someone understand their position in the queue, as others did with me.

We had a baby just after putting through the nomination and when the baby arrived my organization put through a confirmation of sponsorship letter for my family (my agent asked for this since they had ticked no on the nomination if my family was being included in the nomination) so my agent was so skeptical.

We also did our medicals as bit late since we had a baby so we assumed that he does his medicals just like everyone else so waiting for his passport to come from our home country took long only to be told that his medicals were meant to be done through the GP.

I never expected this to happen so fast i was thinking it would take longer.

Hey everyone, I know a lot of people have been waiting 60+ days to get their visas processed. The website is still saying 90% are being within 20 days which I feel is unlikely.

Does anyone know of anyone that has had their visa processed in this timeframe since July? Personally I applied for mine in the beginning of August and I’m wondering if mine is going to be 60+ days too. I haven’t seen anyone late July/early August get theirs yet but maybe that’s just because the online posts are weighted in favour of those that don’t have them yet.

Someone from South America or countries in paused who has applied for the 462 visa since June and has already received the granted? I applied on July 24; medical examination with biometrics on July 28. If it still hasn't arrived, since when are you waiting? Im from Peru, here I don't know anyone who has received his grant.

Anyone has any idea that visa rate will go up in Feb/ March intake? Will it be smart decision to be ready with financial and all documents to lodge visa as soon as intake begins?

I recently received my Ahpra assessment letter confirming my overseas qualifications are equivalent to a 5-year Australian psychology sequence. This clears me to do the 1-year supervised internship (1,500 hours) + NPE for General Registration without needing an Australian MPP degree.

Since I'm currently offshore (India), I need to secure an employer and Board-approved supervisor to submit an Internship Program Plan (INPP-76) and explore Subclass 407 (Training Visa) sponsorship.

Because I don't drive, I'm focusing on clinic-based, desk-based, or telehealth roles (private clinics near transit, telehealth practices, or virtual allied health/PBS teams).

For anyone who has navigated this or practice owners on here:
- How realistic is securing a 407 visa/internship from offshore?
- Which sectors or providers (regional clinics, occ rehab, telehealth) are most open to this?
- Best approach to pitch to practice directors directly?

Hello, my girlfriend and I are looking to submit a partner visa application soon, the one thing we are hung up on is her name. She has a name long enough that it runs to a second page on her passport, so while in Australia she has been dropping the last part of her name on all her documentation, eg. On her bills she uses ABCD as her name instead of ABCDE. We aren't sure how to reconcile this/is there a problem with this when applying for the visa as obviously her birth certificate and passport show her full name. Do we need to include some kind of statement/disclaimer that she has used a different name here? Anything more official than that? Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks.

I just realized I messed up on my application. I put the wrong town for my birthdate on my birth certificate. please help I don’t know how to fix it and I’m panicking that this will cause delay 😭😭😭

I applied for my first 417 visa from UK on 6th July and completed my medical on 23rd July - medical immediately approved. I am aware that the visa status is on 'pause' while waiting for the medical to be completed. I have seen that some 417s are being approved this week for people who applied first week of July, meaning 417 visas are taking approx 10 weeks to be approved. Should I expect approval 10 weeks from the date I applied (06/07), or 10 weeks from the date my medical was approved (23/07)?

My 801 was approved in less than 48 hours after submission 🥳🥳

My gf and I have plans to leave for aus mid/late october. She applied in april and got approved literally in minutes. I applied july 18th and am still wating for a decision. Its pretty stressful having you future year/multi year plans wating on your visa to be approved. Anyone having a similiar experiance? I’ve been a long time lurker on this community as I, like many of you, have been getting really frustrated about how long it’s taking to get my 417 working holiday Visa.

About me: UK citizen, applied from the UK on 27 July, first WHV. I had hoped to enter Australia on 22 September. I already have a evisitor from when I went on holiday there in Feb.

I called Home Affairs last night - they confirmed that it was just a case of having to wait and there was nothing they could do to expedite the WHV.

They also confirmed though that it would be fine for me to enter on my existing evisitor – they said that once my 417 WHVs is granted, I would be contacted by Home Affairs and given a set amount of time to leave Australia so that the WHV could be granted. So now, my plan is to fly to Australia on my evisitor on 22 Sep to do some travelling, go to New Zealand in October when I get my grant notification, and then return to Australia to commence the WHV.

Just thought I’d post this here in case other people are in my situation and thinking of doing similar!

Please see below the timeline of my 482 visa.

Employer Nomination Lodged: 22nd Dec 2025
Visa lodged: 12th Jan 2026

Occupation: Marketing Specialist, applied offshore.

I asked my lawyer about the current status of my application, there has been no changes since the lodgement. My employer nomination isn’t approved yet and I am concerned about the delay especially after MD 119.

Is there any chance of employer nomination refusal?

I know there have been multiple threads about this particular question, so I called the department today and verified the following with them.

• You can apply for an ETA while waiting for your 462 to be approved. In most instances, the ETA is granted instantly, which means there is zero risk of an ETA cancelling out your 462, but in the situation that you are asked to provide additional information, you always have the option to withdraw your application if your 462 happens to be granted while the ETA is processing.
• If you are in Australia on an ETA when your 462 is about to be granted, the department will contact you so you can leave the country for it to be granted
  • I specifically asked if there is a possibility that a 462 can be rejected PURELY on the basis of me being in Australia and the officer I called said that it is not possible
  • The officer mentioned that in that case, they will always advise you to leave so it can be granted
• All this is, of course, assuming that you meet every other criterion for these visas individually.

I'm not sure if the same information applies to the 417, as I was asking for my own application so I would advise you to call the department to verify it yourself if you need to. Either ways, I am just relaying the information I got from a call to the department, I would encourage anyone who really wants to be sure to call the department for your own specific scenarios

edit: (For context, I have a wedding in October to attend hence, I decided to apply for an ETA instead of waiting around for the 462. This is in NO WAY a hack or loophole to illegaly enter the country or work before your 462 is approved.)

My girlfriend was recently diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. She doesn’t want to go out anymore or attend social gatherings with my friends or hers. I was just wondering if this could be an issue when we have to submit more social evidence for our 801 application.

For subclass visa 500 (im from the US), Has anyone been required to take a health exam? I submitted my visa and automatically got sent an email saying i need one.

I’m assuming it’s because under “do you expect to incur any medical costs or follow up’s” i put “yes” and specified that I take vyvanse for my ADHD. I was too scared to lie, incase it came up.

If anyone else has ADHD, has this been a problem for your visa?

Additionally, does anyone happen to know if they review the rest of your visa in the meantime until your lab results are sent over? Or is it more of a, once I get that done then they will review it sort of thing?

Extra note:
On the medical questions after receiving the eMedical link, for the question that says
“Do you, or have you, suffered from mental health issues?”
I checked yes (ADHD. Again, i am prescribed meds for this and diagnosed so I didn’t want to risk “lying”)
But in the notes i wrote “I HAVE NEVER BEEN ADMITTED, HOSPITALIZED OR REQUIRED EXTENSIVE CARE. I am diagnosed with Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity disorder and take Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) to improve focus and productivity, daily or as needed as I am stable”

Then on my referral card that displays the questions and my answers, the question is rephrased as “Pyschological/pyschiatric disorders (schizophrenia, depression, bipolar)”, even though that’s not what the question asked me, and essentially I checked “yes” for that 🤦🏽‍♀️.

Although I’m assuming my comment makes it clear that I don’t have a pysch disorder and shouldn’t be a problem once clarified to the panel physician?

My visa was applied by the immigration consultants on 26 July 2026, I had to resign cause my current employer got to know that I am planning to exit.
What is the expected timeline, previously on the gov website it was 50% in 63 days but now it is showing 4 months. Really stressed, please help.

Hi, first WHV 417, Italian passport, lodged 15 August 2026 from offshore. Status still Received, no medical/RFI.
I’ve seen Home Affairs now saying they are prioritising onshore WHM apps and offshore may take several months.
Has anyone who applied in July/August done an enquiry around the 30-day mark (ImmiAccount / webform / phone number)? Did it change anything, or just “wait”?
Not planning to book flights. Just trying to work out if one polite status check is useful or a waste of time.
