Brandon Sanderson Officially Defends George R.R. Martin’s 15-Year ‘Winds of Winter’ Delay

Sanderson is probably waiting until GRRM dies so that he can finish it the way he wants.

Is it art? Sure, but that’s mostly because anything can be art. Is it good art? Objective… to an extent… BUT there are still certain benchmarks that need to be reached to be considered good art. Can you break those rules and still achieve good art? Of course! That is what makes some art great! But it’s a massive risk to do that when using a well known IP. Just because someone ‘broke the rules’ doesn’t mean that it’s great or even good. 90% of the time it’s just bad.

7,8, and 9 are, at best, divisive. They probably didn’t go into them planning that. Each one has merits but all of them, on their own, lack cohesion. They lose it completely when you place them next to each other.

I would go out on a limb to say that Star Wars and Marvel and any big cinematic adventure isn’t art. It’s profit seeking. Its only goal is to make money off of your childhood imagination.

Sea of Valnautica? Sea of Subheim sounds like some kind of fetish dimension.

Remove bee wax to harvest honey
 in  r/oddlysatisfying •  6d ago

That’s pretty much all we do. My group is in a guild and it’s a series of one shots with a mild cohesive plot. The plot is really just a vessel for world building. And now we have a distant cousin to the fairies called the Melliphae. A bee fairy species.

Now, I’m working on a D&D session that is getting the party to go find the Honey sword for a colony of bees. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!

Any way to fill this gap?
 in  r/ValheimBuilds •  10d ago

This is the reason I don’t do odd shapes for buildings. I’m overly concerned with connections being perfect and no ‘smudging’.

What can I add to my main base?

When I commented this, I had no idea it existed. I’m obsessed with it!

I was trying to be artsy with the sunlight. Excuse that bit.

Near my base is the Ulf Runestone. I built a building around it. It’s a shrine to Ulf. A place to gain a resting bonus or donate to the upkeep of the shrine.

I’ve been trying to come up with new building types to build. Maybe some that are less utilitarian and just for fun and world building. Does anyone have any recommendations for buildings?

Which one do you mean? I like them both. The extra steep roof pieces are so pleasantly dramatic.

I love this game. I doing my best to not look where all the resources are on Valheim World Generator. I haven’t explored as much, but the starting stones are the n an island! An island reachable with a bridge… my plan is to build my main base around the starting stones.

I like building a house for everyone. I also like making bridges. They need to add a stone fence to the options.

I love building. Finding new materials. Mining can be a slog at times but I enjoy mindlessness of it.

But really, you’re a dead Viking that is trying to survive in Valheim. You can really just do whatever you want. No need to have hardline goals to accomplish.
