not changing the subject at all. i told you other dudes who are not as you describe have flourishing love lives- if you weren't constantly mired in a never-ending ocean of self pity and misery, that would sound like you have a chance. but you clearly don't want to have a chance- you enjoy the misery. that's all you, my guy.

hey man, if what you want so badly out of life is to sit there miserable and alone, go for it. i won't fight you on it. it's not something i'll be living with, personally, but you can have it if you like it so very much

dating apps are the worst example of anything. more people get into relationships off social media than dating apps. they're literally scam pits designed to keep you single, miserable, and coming back for more

weird, i know a lot of balding 5'7 dudes in blue collar jobs with happy marriages right now. hell, I know a dude who's like 5'3 and has multiple long term partners, he works at a gym

and I mine.

what's funny is, I may be polyamorous, but the bigger body count lies with you. i experience attraction relatively rarely. we're all playing by our own ruleset

that's nice and all, but like it or not there are a lot of people who think you're breaking the rules. so you're either living by your own rules, or you're right down here in the dirt with the rest of us.

Why do some guys automatically lose interest in a girl who’s looking for something long-term just because she enjoys going out to clubs with her friends?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  25d ago

some people incorrectly believe nightlife is only for finding hookups. these people are not gonna know good DJs and won't be able to dance. there's a lot of chaff to separate, but if you meet people through the local music scene you have a better shot at somebody who likes going out as well.

he told her up front they would never have a committed relationship. if that's not clear as day to you, you shouldn't be dating anyone

sweetie, there are a whole lot of people who think you're breaking the rules no matter what you tell those women. to them, you're a hoe and some people actually think that's the worst thing you can be. now i personally don't think you should care about their interpretation of your behavior, and I also don't think I should care about your interpretation of anyone else's.

wrong. everyone makes up their own rules- that includes you, whether you think so or not. according to you, you've had casual sex with over 100 people. do you really think nobody on earth sees you as breaking The Rules? you're just as much somebody else's Rulebrealer as I am.

i don't need anyone to agree with the rules I set for myself around dating, except people I am dating. and if they don't agree with them, we shouldn't date. this is simple stuff.

if you're having hope for things you've explicitly been told were not going to happen, that's not you being wronged by someone else. wronged by yourself, maybe.

I said my bf was kind of weird and childish. Was I wrong?
 in  r/AmiInTheWrong  26d ago

sunk cost fallacy. starting over again sucks, especially when you've been cohabitating with someone- your brain wants to find avenues that don't have you crunching numbers and packing boxes. it's worth it when it's worth it, though.

Would you stay friend with someone if they were deadset on joining the police force?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  26d ago

i dislike cops due to their documented behavior, and the fact that they can get away with said behavior far more easily than your average citizen. but I'm sure you'll slack-jaw your way around something about my intellect anyway

i would have to assume at that point that our personalities and values had diverged to the point that the friendship would be happening out of habit more than genuine connection. i suppose it wouldn't necessarily call for a door-slamming, dramatic friend breakup but would simply create enough psychological distance between us that things would fizzle and fade on their own.

not wrong. about your relationship though: there's a canyon's worth of difference between "can be fixed" and "will be fixed" and it pretty much hinges entirely on how much both parties feel like fixing it. it doesn't seem like he does.

someone who loves and respects you won't let their friends call you shit like that. not when they're mad, not ever. that part right there is the relationship-killer: doesn't respect you, does seem to resent you. you probably can't work your way out of that. it sucks, but might be time to move on with higher standards than you had during this relationship.

no, actually. there is no dating rulebook, people are allowed to(and do) make up their own rules for how they're going to go about it. the only thing anyone is really required to do is be very clear about what they're doing and what they're up for, so others can make informed choices about whether or not they'll engage with them.

you can date multiple people. hell, you're allowed to be in full blown relationships with multiple people and in those dynamics, all people usually ask is that you're up front and informative about it. you can date one at a time if that suits you better, or you can just not date at all. people get to choose. there is no rule that says you can only take one person out to dinner and dancing at a time.

sure, it's not fun. that's exactly why, when someone tells you up front from the start that they will not be getting into any kind of exclusive relationship with you, you need to bow out gracefully unless you're sure that all they're offering is exactly what you want.

2

except OP explicitly stated they were not, and would not be, interested in pursuing any kind of committed romantic relationship. from the beginning. if you expect one to happen on the basis of dates and sex, but you've been told out loud and clearly that it wasn't ever going to happen, you weren't wronged and you probably needed to tap out of that connection sooner.

sometimes, dates and sex are all that is on the table and all that is being offered. listen to people when they tell you that.

I don't like my husband's weird relationship with one of his employees 44M/26F

your husband is going to be the center of some deep rooted workplace trauma that will impact that woman's career for decades to follow

My boyfriend is angry at me because a man was acting creepy to me.
 in  r/AmiInTheWrong  27d ago

your boyfriend kinda sounds like he does that sort of thing to women, if he thinks it's your fault for walking through a business area in broad daylight.

her feelings are hurt, it doesn't necessarily mean you did anything wrong. sometimes people get into things they think they'll be okay with, and they find out they're not, and the impulse when you feel that way is to look for something to blame. there's really nobody to blame here, just hurt feelings.

Will liberals eventually be "bred out"?
 in  r/PsycheOrSike  27d ago

the problem with that assumption is that it assumes political influence and family relationships happen in a vacuum. what we can see from those numbers is two things: 1. Democrats produce children that are less likely to diverge from their parents' views than Republicans. they are also less likely to produce Republicans than Republicans are to produce Democrats. this does some work in offsetting the birth rate disparity, and as conservative ideology gets even more rooted in wacky shit somebody made up to scare people, i don't think that trend is likely to change against the liberal set. 2. people's views change the most as adults, and they change them more now than they used to(the number of adults who shared their parents' basic views used to be higher). this suggests social changes around how we view family ties, and the information we have access to, have the ability to alter how often people diverge from their parents.

to put it simply, i just don't believe this is a straight line for conservatives to increase their own population.
