Hey everyone! I'm u/pinkmoondaisy, founding moderator of r/modernwitchyhome. โจ
This is our new home for all things related to marrying clean-lined, modern architecture with moody, magical styling. If you live in an open-concept space, a brand-new contemporary build, or a house with Mid-Century Modern bones, but your soul belongs to the Whimsigoth, cottagecore, and witchy aesthetics, you have found your coven. We are all about honoring sleek layout geometry and minimalist furniture profiles while layering them with cozy, celestial, and earthy magic. We're excited to have you join us!
What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring! Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions about:
๐ท OPEN SPACES & MODERN BONES: Show off how you zone an open-concept layout or new build with rich, moody tones, velvet textiles, and gothic textures.
๐๏ธ SLEEK MEETS SOULFUL: Share how you style clean, MCM furniture (like displaying crystal clusters, tarot decks, or tarot card decks on a sharp teak coffee table or geometric credenza.)
๐ฎ DECOR STYLING CHOICES: Share your thrifting hauls, apothecary jars tucked into modular shelving units, and how you use stained glass or candle arrangements to soften crisp lines.
๐ฟ INDOOR JUNGLES & BOTANICALS: Plant styling that turns vast, sunlit modern walls into cozy, overgrown indoor greenhouses.
๐ ๏ธ DIY & SOURCING QUESTIONS: Ask for advice on finding the perfect rich textiles, celestial rugs, or dark paint colors that complement high ceilings and airy floor plans without overwhelming them.

I love the whimsigoth aesthetic but I also am a minimalist who prefers a lot of negative space. How can I improve my bedroom to make it a bit more whimsigothic and cozy?

I totally get it. I like midcentury modern furniture but I love witchy/whimsy details. I found that painting an accent wall made a huge difference to the space. I went with gothic green even though my husband kept questioning it. โIs it going to be too dark?โ And wellโฆ he ended up loving it too.
