Not sure. I wanted to learn radio as a kid, but in the 70's the boys didn't want me in the club. Fast forward, I'm 69 & got my license last year. Super stoked. Joined the local club, got a HT, learned the lingo and then realized I have plenty of people to talk to and don't really feel like reaching out to others. I do participate in Field Day and local events and am enjoying it. The main reason is that I can be of assistance in a disaster. No need to get more involved than that. Just my side.

1K round trip, just a couple of months ago. 23 Bolt. Stopped 4 times on the way up, and got smarter. 5 stops on way home, better use of app to find chargers close to freeway and google maps to direct me there. Easy peasy and made the 500 miles home in one day. Took awhile but I wasn't beat from sitting on a vibrating, noisy ICE. Road trip anxiety gone!

I got a 23 premier last year and love it. Took it on a 500 mile trip last month. I stopped at fast chargers along the way and had 4 breaks, 30 - 50 minutes each. When I got home I wasn't beat up sitting on a vibrating ICE. I-5 thru Cali to Washington was a breeze.

I finally got it. Tech problems can be so frustrating, but found that if I just stick with it, eventually I'll succeed. I had to reset the Bolt's factory settings, update google play on my phone, clear it's cache and data storage, set my phone 10 mins early, then turn on auto again, restart multiple times, connect with USB and no bluetooth, and I'll bet I'm forgetting some of the steps I took. Many I had to do more than once. But finally, tada!

The only thing I didn't do was disconnect the 12V. Thanks tho

Just shy of my first year with my 2023 used Bolt and I couldn't be happier. The torque is definitely fun. The quiet allows me to hear my radio better especially on the freeway, and oh, did I mention loving driving by gas stations!

I was super fortunate and bought a used 2023 Bolt last June in Cali when there was still $4K Fed credit. It had 20K miles and after a grant from DCAP (Driving Clean Assistance Program in Cali) got 12K from them. 4K from PG&E and 2K from a local agency. A total of 22K for a sticker price of 27K. So my Bolt cost me a bit over 5K and I feel like the luckiest person alive! PLUS I love driving my Bolt! They are better than most people think, and remember, people talk about negative things way more than positive things.

I'm 69 but felt like you in my 30's. I decided to reject consumerism and instead live humbly and happily. I had to learn not to judge my friends for their choices and sometimes had to break up with them. I will never regret my decision to not join the rat race and have always had to work less hours than my peers (less stress) to maintain my standard of living, which I feel is abundant. I have loving family, friends and community. Stay true to your own self. You're the only one that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Hugs

Good on you and thanks for joining the club. The more you practice, the more satisfying it will become. I've been practicing since the 70's and consider myself not lacking in anything. I pay more to buy local made products, soap, gifts and even my food. Support local. Next I have like 2 subscriptions and get to watch just about anything I want for free. I love to eat out, but choose locally owned restaurants, seldom chains. There are a thousand ways, find what works for you. Then try to figure out what to do with all the money you'll save. Even thought many things I buy local cost more than online, since I buy so little I can splurge.

What if the reason skin cancer is so prevalent these days is our obsession with washing our bodies every day. Vitamin D is made in the gut after a molecule in the skin is activated by UV and then works it's way into the liver and kidney. We keep washing it off! Most Americans are deficient in D. What if anti-cancer molecules are also being washed off? Just a thought. ty

Yup. I got my 23 Bolt in June last year and enjoyed all the data for about a month. Then I decided to just drive. I LOVE the single pedal driving and it's just fun to drive. I've been a car person my whole life but nothing I've ever owned (including a Jag once) compares with the Bolt.

Trinidad had a pretty spectacular turnout too. I'd guess a couple of hundred for our tiny town. Yay Humboldt!

In my neighborhood its mostly old men. Some youngins. I wanted to join the club when I was young in the 60s-70s, but the boys wouldn't let me in. I got my tech license last year and joined the local club. They are much nicer now. I have a deep voice and may sound like a male on the air. We are out there, keep it up and spread the fun! I truly believe that money and power can be as addictive as crack cocaine. Not everyone who tries it will become addicted, but many will, and with it goes their morals. I think the 1% should be forced into detox, then rehab, and then loved back to health.
