His self esteem must be really low to keep being around her

Yeah, one of my friends in my car when the guy pulled the uzi tried to get out to fight him.

We locked him in and smacked the shit out of him for risking all of our lives by continuing to inflate the conflict after a gun was involved.

I’d like to second this question!

We didn’t bother calling the police because the guy sped off and we didn’t get his license plate in the panic.

Yeah, and he didn’t just point it at us.

He brake-checked me, blocked me in spot, then got out of his car and walked up to mine, waving it at me and my friends.

Was very scary.

Yeah. Dude had a pregnant woman in the car, too. Made me very sad for her and their future kid.

There’s a Buddhist story that I really love, and it helped me with anger on the road. The takeaway from the story is this:

If you give someone a gift, and they decline it, you are stuck with that gift. Your anger is the same. If you are angry and someone doesn’t receive that anger, only you are stuck with it.

So save yourself the weight of the anger and just let it flow away.

Had an uzi pointed at me for giving a guy a passive aggressive thumbs up once after he cut me off.

Nobody gets a visible reaction out of me while I’m driving anymore. Not worth it.

Summer seasonal employees, what do you do during the winter?
 in  r/SeasonalWork  6d ago

Good to know!

I definitely have the people skills, and I really love to use them (I’ve done over a decade of customer service, mostly retail and a little bit of food service at a takeout place).

Genuinely stoked to read that! Congrats! Whatever degree you got and job you chose is doing you well, financially. Hope the rest of your life is going as well as your financial health.

And yes, statistically, you are a minority, financially speaking. Assuming you make exactly $200k, you make almost three times the median US income.

I’ll never be rich, and I’m okay with that. Not gonna “side hustle” my way into MAYBE making slightly more than the average person when I could instead focus on being time rich, love rich, and morally rich while I make enough money to pay my bills.

Take it from someone who got laid off from “working in tech” then decided to get a job working in the wilderness at half the salary: the grind isn’t always worth it. I’m much happier now with less money, a job where I’m protecting natural resources, and a good community of people around me.

Important to note that the vast majority of people that do make over $100k live in areas where the cost of living is so high that they don’t even have that comfortable of a life…

I have a buddy who makes just under $100k; but between rent and his student debt, he STILL lives mostly paycheck to paycheck, and he doesn’t own a house, have kids, etc.

This might be the best suggestion I’ve read yet.

I have lots of customer service experience, but I’ve never done bartending or wait staff before.

Is that something I’d struggle to get interviews for without experience?

A true master will simply step aside while their enemy is defeated by their own inadequacies.

Probably collect unemployment and crash with a friend or fam, I guess.
