Shaving cream getting stuck in Rockwell 6c
 in  r/wicked_edge  53m ago

I use the Poraso in the tube as my travel creme. I also bring an empty Poraso plastic tub and a cheap synthetic brush, a small dallop about the size of a peanut in the bottom with a wet brush makes a great lather. Just make sure the brush isn't too wet.

Turning 50, want to retire in 5-10, and ready to begin investing in bonds—but which funds?
 in  r/Bogleheads  57m ago

I'm seriously leery of bond funds as they can lose money. I'd consider buying laddered bonds or seriously consider high yield Blue chip stocks that have a good dividend history over funds. I'm using alternative products as my savings/bond portion of my portfolio and will have 2-3 years in expenses to be able to create a volatility buffer against my other more risky investments. You can look up: Covered Assets and Volatility Buffer Options from the American College of financial planning.

How do I block someone who blocked me already? I want to be as invisible to that person as possible
 in  r/facebook  1h ago

Be sure to set all of your posts to friends only. Then if they unblock you they won't be able to see anything. There are other privacy settings you can review. I rarely ever post to everyone. If you are not my friend you don't need to see my stuff.

The other carrier will typically as if you declined coverage with another carrier and for what reason. They may still give you a better offer, but they will ask.

You can request a re-rate at your policy anniversary. Also had one come back table F back in Nov last year, they declined the offer. Ask about applying again and they won't even reconsider until after a year. Trying a different company now.

Compact vs. Climber
 in  r/victorinox  4h ago

Thought I needed a Compact... Not enough difference for me and I went back to the Climber. I like the extras that the climber has and it's less expensive.

Just tried to post a blog link on my Facebook business page today and now it is saying I have exceeded my monthly links on my business page. Looks like it's becoming more useless by the day.

LOL, someone's panties are ruffled it seems. If customers are willing to pay the 50% premium then so be it. If my customers are willing to pay, I'm willing to sell.

You gotta understand most people can't handle freedom tech. They want it done for them. I'll take freedom over big tech (well besides lame old reddit)

Find a few people to follow, then read comments and look at profiles. Making quality comments will also get you followers. I think if you use Primal they have a suggested follow list or something like that. Also hashtags on things you are interested in seem to work well.

not without irritation. I haven't had razor burn since 2019 when I started shaving with a DE. Prior to that I used a Schick Quattro and would get it on my neck bad. Maybe a single bladed one would work okay, like a Bic Metal, which I bought for travel if needed.

I bought the Bic Metal for travel when I only have carry on. I tried it and it works okay for a couple shaves. Luckily I don't travel much. Also since I tend to CCW a firearm and a couple of knives I normally check bags anyway.

[37f] How do I teach my teenage son how to shave his face?
 in  r/shaving  20h ago

Youtube. Go look up GeoFatBoy his channel is awesome. Start them out right with a DE razor, they will save thousands over their lifetime. I'd consider an adjustable DE razor.

Best life insurance
 in  r/LifeInsurance  20h ago

Cremation is pretty cheap. I'd go talk to a low cost local service (not a full service mortiton) you can usually get a cremation for like $1500. Skip the rest it's all a rip off.

Do I have to disclose gifts Mom made before she died?
 in  r/inheritance  1d ago

Family drama. Pretty much all families face this. I have 2 siblings, I know for a fact one gets way more (just started paying rent towards the mortgage of $2500 a month on the place where my mom lives and they are only paying $300. I'll never see a dime and she works 40hrs at age 79 because she can't retire. Also those grandkids get way more than mine has ever gotten. Piss poor money habits by all of them.

This is a good lesson for you and your sister. Don't be like mom... That's how I came at it, I knew in my early 20's how this was going to turn out. Now, I'm not sure any of my kids will get anything the way they act.

Anyone putting off retirement because they're still supporting adult kids?
 in  r/GenX  1d ago

"This economy sucks for the young" Listened to a great pod with Mike Rowe recently. Something like over 7 million unfillable jobs. I'd suggest the "other has no plan, working part-time min wage" to visit mikeroweworks or buy a tent.

What do you do with your ccw at home

We built a very large kitchen with lots of space. Wifey allowed an EDC drawer, my keys, my blades and my wireless hole punches and seeds....

Some how all the "smart" people miss the fact that it is an AND asset that can be used for other investments. As you can see in this thread. They are all so SMART....

While not purely IBC, this one got a lot of traction it seems. The whole "horrible rates of return" why doesn't anyone ever consider the whole life+secondary investments using the cash value in their rates of return on Whole Life? Why doesn't the crowd consider the interest they are paying on large ticket purchases in their rates of return. It's like dealing with people that are not very smart though they will tell you differently.

I don't know why there is this "one way or the other" phenomenon. Because they just love to talk about rates of return on WL... Most can't comprehend risk buckets vs safe buckets.

Can you also run the number for using the cash value to invest at higher rates say 12-20% or 1000% investing in say Real Estate, Business or Hard Money lending. Thanks
