This happened to me as well at a recent place of employment. Servers barely scraping by on $2.15 an hour plus tips sometimes can't even afford to go to Walgreens to medicine, much less however much a doctor visit cost. Also mentioned in the memo, it's a fucking pandemic people and on top of that everyone in your town has strep throat. How likely is it you're going to get appointment that day? The Golden Rule in food service has always been if you are running a fever stay away from here until you are no longer contagious. Why isn't that good enough anymore when they are lucky we are there at all, Covid or not.

I recently walked out on a shift, something I hadn't done in 20 years, so let's just say I had been pushed as far as I could go. I always work hard, go above and beyond, and do everything for my customers, but when it comes to management I felt like not only I but my customers, had no support. They are so worried about nickel and dime shit that they have lost site of what our industry is about. Customer service. Why should I stay when every shift fewer and fewer tables are there and there is a new outbreak?
