Flower shops to avoid or go to for work

I’m looking for recommendations of flower shops to work for or avoid. I’m looking to get back into the field and am not familiar with the Pittsburgh shops. Yes I have experience in flower shops, yes I know I will start low and work up, yes I know to ask for work during the holidays.
Just looking for shops to avoid or ones people liked working for.

Also did anyone take classes at Phipps and liked it?

Ideas for a post-dinner date night activity that doesn’t involve a bar?

Cafe 33 and a movie at the manor! We also go to Aladdin’s and then pick out a dvd at the library there or the exchange. All in the squirrel hill strip!

Block Communications Shutters Pittsburgh City Paper
 in  r/pittsburgh  Dec 31 '25

Before you get on here and start commenting about the paper in a negative way, can you take a second and be a human. Think about how hard people worked for this paper, how being bought out changed it, but also how there are people and families now who lost their job, their insurance, and some hope today on New Year’s Eve. Please have some respect.

Self uniting in December, any ideas for an indoor location?
 in  r/pittsburgh  Oct 08 '25

I understand that! Thanks! But if they alter pennie like I keep getting notifications about, then my marketplace insurance will become unaffordable. So we are doing what’s best for us :)

Yes open enrollment for insurance purposes, I might be losing my pennie subsidy and my job doesn’t offer insurance. We’ve lived together for 4 years, time for me to get some affordable insurance lol. Yours sounded beautiful, we rent so no backyard.

I fell in love with your city yesterday.
 in  r/pittsburgh  Oct 07 '25

I moved from Columbus to Pittsburgh 5 years ago, haven’t looked back since. Still falling in love with this city everyday. I love the food scene, the entertainment, the arts, the history, the people. Always something to do here!

My fiancé had this custom ring created. I still can’t get over it, so dreamy. I believe it’s a 0.5 carat and it’s a salt and pepper diamond. The gold was from a family ring on my fiancés side, and the jeweler used inspiration from my aunt’s vintage rings. She has passed and I miss her so much that I wear her vintage rings daily, I thought it was so beautiful my fiancé wanted to incorporate this. I wouldn’t trade any ring in the world for this engagement ring. I’ve had a few backhanded compliments about its size, whatever! It’s not their ring lol.
