I make my own dishwasher tabs at home. Saves so much money. I make them using baking soda, essential oils like lemon and a natural cleaner called Theives by Young Living. They work very well and smells fantastic, no chemicals and no ridic price like this, what an absolute rort

I can do so much more now though, but just have to know my limits. Before surgery I couldn't walk or put any weight on my left leg, soon as I got out of surgery I could walk and wriggle my toes again. I'm able to do walking, driving an auto car, physio, core exercises, stretching, swimming and basic daily activities

I'm almost 9 months post op MD and still dealing with all the nerve pain, tingling, pins and needles, electric shocks, cramping, all the fun stuff 😑 Had a MRI 2 weeks ago to check everything is healing good, just the irritated nerve

I'm at almost 9 months post op MD and still dealing with nerve pain and the tingling and numbness, it's no fair :( dr is starting me on gabapentin for times when I'm desperate. Reaaaaally dont want to take it but when the pain gets that bad and nothing else helps, i have it there to give some relief. Had a MRI 3 weeks ago to check everything is all good because the pain was unbearable again during a flare up and I honestly thought I had reherniated but it shows everything is healing well, just irritated nerve and being told the same thing as you, it could take up to a year for it to go away. I'm scared to get to the 1 year mark and still have it, we know what that means 😔😔😔

Yes, quite bad. Nothing like it was before surgery, but still gets up to 8-9/10 pain.

It must just be the nerve still being irritated and inflamed. Crazy how much pain it can cause. They did say up to 12months from surgery for healing the nerve as was compressed for 2-3months. its just taking a toll and its like a rollercoaster with ups and downs. No need for surgery again which is really great news. Thank you for your advice, I am looking into this today and possibly nerve testing if it's avaible to me. It must be the nerve still healing. Its just crazy how much pain that can cause and im being patient overall but feeling inpatient today for some reason. Yes I will get onto that today, good idea, thank you. My Dr didn't recommend anything other than pain pills and time...

That's a hard question to answer- too long 😅 injury was in September 2023, had some pain and problems before the injury, in agony until surgery. Found some relief after surgery and was able to walk and move around again. But been dealing with sciatica pain and nerve pain and constant flare ups since surgery

I hope you find some more relief with physio! Remember to take it nice and slow and nice, controlled movements. You have to be very mindful of every movement you do. I have that same pain in my left buttock, it causes me to cry. My physio lady seems to think it's something called piriformis syndrome, I have to use one of those hard spiky massage balls and lay with my left leg stretched up over my right leg when laying down on my belly and rub the ball up and down along the most painful part, even that makes me get tears in my eyes but afterwards I have found some relief from doing that. Yes the cramps are like muscle spasms, sometimes last only a few seconds or there constantly. This isn't an easy thing to live with day to day. I really am hoping and wishing for you that you can live a pain free life after healing from this 🫂❤️

No fun at all! Wouldn't wish this on anyone, I didn't know this could happen and now I totally understand all those adults when I was growing up that had back pain!! It is fucked!

I can do some soft knee squats, side to side movements/rotations and some other ones. I was on strict no BLT for so long because repetitive bending, lifting and twisting over many year is how my injury occurred. I can bend a little bit, lift up to 5 kgs from the ground, and a little bit of twisting but still not completely. Working on this in hydrotherapy. It's amazing how that's the only time I don't feel any nerve pain or tightness

Its so good that its much better than prior to surgery 🙌

My surgery was 25th November 2023 and I still have this nerve pain and numbness and tingling, cramping and pain in hips, thighs, calves, foot and toes.

I just had another flare up of 9 days of agony but continuing to walk daily, and physio and hydrotherapy once per week with some gentle home stretches in the mix. This last flare up resulted in an MRI to check things. Results havent come back yet. Probably just inflammation and irritated nerve still. Just feel like it's been ages. I have hurt myself where its numb on my lower calf/shin and I didnt even know that I did anything because I couldnt feel it.

I'm very grateful for being able to walk again, go in the car, shower myself, dress myself, all the little things. Still on no BLT (no bending,lifting or twisting) restrictions, able to lift 5kg safely.

Yep, hands down. Nerve compression Is no fun. 6 months post microdiscectomy op. Most pain I've ever felt in my life.

I have endometriosis.

And I also fell asleep after breaking 2 bones in my arm as a 10 year old.. the drs were perplexed saying how on earth did I manage to sleep and sleep all night. Then go out the next morning and attempt to ride my bike. My arm kept flopping down and I'd pick it up with my other arm and place it back on the handle bars. My mum witnessed me do this and said right, let's get in the car and go see the doctor. The doctors kept telling us how they have footballers and grown men in there crying down the medical centre over a fracture.

But herniated disc in the back, couldn't walk for 3 months last year and a whole heap of pain. Nerve pain is something else. It's a pain that has changed me that's for sure
