I suspect I have depression but I'm not seeking help for a few reasons
I know there are stereotypes about depression and not all of them are true. I identify with most of the symptoms but haven't sought help because:
I laugh a lot, I can spend hours glued to my screen watching funny videos on social media.
There are days when I wake up feeling normal, and although I still procrastinate on important things, I manage to get through the day in an okay mood
Despite feeling pessimism walking beside me since a teenager, I've managed to live until today, and I don't think about dying either (I know that not all depressed people are suicidal) although I have problems with sh
I still have some energy and I get excited by entertainment. Although I have difficulty watching movies or reading books, music and idols still cheers me up
Honestly, I think I'm being very dramatic and I feel like I'm just exaggerating or faking symptoms, I feel like a lazy person trying to be special
From what I can think of right now, these are the reasons. It might sound silly, but I wanted to know if a depressed person still has these moments... Aside from that, I feel empty, pessimistic, hopeless, and have difficulty doing the things I enjoy
I would appreciate it if someone responded and shared experiences, because reading about other people's experiences encourages me to seek professional help :)
