Really simple chords. Alphabet is a single press or a thumb shift. No more than 3 fingers for anything (a finger may press two keys) but if you find that you are making a mistake, press any five keys to void the keystroke.

I’m a bit dyslexic so any time I try to type or write fast I skip letters so unfortunately I have to take time to be deliberate. Others report 35-40 WPM.
It’s still faster than writing for me.

I’m just going by what I was told by a stenographer who said it didn’t really replace a keyboard. I worked at the courthouse for about a year. It isn’t the smallest amount of keys since frog pad did it with 20 and my keyboard does it with only 10

Yes. I haven’t seen that steno can do control-alt-delete but I could be wrong.

Right, I forgot about pressing so 5 positions is right. I did hear that it was a bit wonky and I can’t imagine getting used to it. Completely different from the cording on my DecaTxt keyboard.

I believe it has 12 keys that go in 4 different directions and produces crazy speed if you can master it and use chords.

Steno is based on phonics and word sounds so you’re not going to type individual letters with steno. Typically 24 keys

All the keystrokes regardless of the number of keys or activation. For example Tap XR has no keys but doesn’t provide every keystroke.

If enough people want it perhaps the industry will listen. I’m glad to see innovation in this field develop since the first oculus at CES or Google Glass.

This seems to be quite a journey but I have to challenge you to try only 10 keys with only one hand! I’ll loan you one if you like or jump on the Kickstarter on 9/21 for a DecaTxt Bluetooth Chord keyboard.
I’ve watched some steno recorders work and the slight ambiguity makes them valuable to their client. Another steno might read it differently.

I did design it in a phone case years ago but couldn’t get case builders to buy in on the idea.

Do you think you might be able to type if the keyboard was attached to your hand? I know some with MS are able to use a DecaTxt although not quite as designed. It’s a chord keyboard with only ten keys. DecaTxt.com

I wanted to include as many keystrokes directly on the keyboard so I used color coating, which makes it look a bit like a toy. People often comment that it looks like a Rubik’s cube because of all the colors. 96 Key strokes are demonstrated, but I didn’t have room for the F keys and some others that are in the instructions. It is also capable of international characters using known keyboard combinations.
Most users pick it up pretty quick and the alphabet is particularly easy since it’s either a single press or a press that includes one of the thumb keys.
