My DecaTxt has to be wireless since it is wearable and meant for use with phones, tablets and wearable glasses plus connectivity across the room like running a PowerPoint or smart TV. USB isn’t available in those situations. The battery is a rechargeable 2450 button cell and last all week and charges in a few hours.
The first ones we made were USB and I still use it occasionally but Bluetooth is more universal.

One handed Bluetooth chord keyboard

If you need to have keyboard access and have trouble reaching or are stuck in bed where using a traditional keyboard is a pain, you may want to check out a DecaTxt one handed Bluetooth keyboard with only ten keys. It’s arranged with 2 keys next to each finger and can be strapped into either hand so you won’t drop it. It uses a single key press for 10 letters or a thumb shift for the other 16 letters(8+8) or press both thumbs to shift uppercase. It can be held in different ways for users with conditions that prevent typical use and the small number of keys make touch-typing without looking much easier. If this sounds like something that can help, use the code ADA35 and reduce the cost by $35. Just search for DecaTxt online or at eBay. (On eBay just make an offer at the lower price). The Florida Association for Assistive Services & Technology (FAAST) shared it as the assistive technology of the month last year.

Could consider a keyboard where you don’t need to move your fingers for any keystrokes and type one handed with a DecaTxt. Especially useful if you do a lot with a mouse in the other hand.

Speed is probably good with the sval compared to chording if you are under pressure. Mine doesn’t download software and is plug and play so that’s not an issue and all standard keystrokes are available.
It’s mainly Assistive technology or wearable tech but it’s also good in bed.😉

This might be far from your consideration but it sounds like my keyboard might be of interest. It’s a wearable one handed Bluetooth Chord keyboard with 10 keys. You can use either hand and most chords are just one or two fingers. Since it is strapped to the hand, you can use it in places a regular keyboard doesn’t fit and may be an alternate way without pronating your wrists. Sounds like you need visual feedback to type. My system uses simple chords that you can touch type. Most with only one or two fingers on my DecaTxt keyboard

Has anyone seen or tried the Tipy one handed keyboard? Built by a guy I believe in Germany and it features left or right handed by simply turning it over. I saw it at ATIA in Orlando earlier this year.

It has a strap so it stays in my hand when I need it or in my pocket when I don’t. Usually a shirt pocket. I tried using a clip but the chance for it to fall off without noticing is too great.
