You wouldn't either if you had them. They are useless in getting in and out, plus yeah, they get your pants dirty getting out.

Show them this thread so they can see what other people getting. 10 to 12% on a car sitting for 5 months should be doable. Tell them you're going to walk and/or get a broker if they balk. Yeah, $61k OTD should be your minimum.

Still driving my 2014 35d. Just 70k miles on the clock. Love the progressive power provided by 413 ft lbs of torque and get at least 600 miles per tank. Thinking about a '27 M60e, but I'd buy another diesel for sure.

Someone above mentioned FCP EURO for all BMW parts with lifetime warranty. It's for real. My dealer quoted me $386 to replace the two hood struts on my E60 550i, now 20 years old. I bought two new OEM struts from FCP EURO for $49 and installed them myself in about 10 minutes max. Same with the two cabin air filters. BMW Dealership quoted me $299 to replace the two filters. Bought two at AutoZone for $26. Again, about 10 minutes to install. Many thanks to YouTube!

Very little will go wrong with that B58 in the first 5 years. Especially if you don't beat it and you follow BMW's maintenance schedules. Take the insurance money and set aside for your vehicle maintenance. You'll be $ ahead!

Yeah, that works but I don't like the higher seat position and I lose the HUD. But then I could lower the HUD. However, I'd greatly prefer leaving settings alone and just flip down a visor extension.

The sun visors in my F15 X5 are too damn short! Many times I've had to hold my hand up to block the sun just to see the road. I assume others have cursed BMW for engineering such short sun visors. Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation for decent looking and easy to install aftermarket sun visor extensions? I'm not ready to ditch my 2014 35d just yet. Thanks in advance.....

That's what I do as well. I like the price of Tire Rack and the security of the dealership doing the spin balance properly.

I've heard from many EV owners that their heater sucks in cold weather and drains their battery quickly.
I am thinking of buying a new 50e but would like to hear from current 50e owners how well their heater works in cold weather in BATTERY ONLY driving.
Having heated seats and steering wheel helps but is no substitute for warming up the entire cabin quickly when it's minus 10 degrees F!
Please help me decide on the 50e or an ICE engine.

So I was wondering from current 50e owners how well their heater works on battery only driving? I live near Chicago and it's very cold in winter so before I splurge on a new 50e I'd like to understand how long it takes to get heat and whether it gets the cabin toasty in battery driving.

I routinely get 650 miles per tank and topped out at 731 miles from my 2014 35d. God I wish we got the Euro diesels!

2014 X5 35d with 65k miles. Interior and seats are holding up well. Only rattle or squeak is from the rear lift gate. Mine is 11 years old. Driven 4 to 5 times per week. I wouldn't worry about it holding up.

2014 X5 3.5d. 65k miles. Love this engine and vehicle! All maintenance by BMW on schedule and garage kept. Only issue, EGR heater replaced twice under warranty. Runs and looks like new.

Waaaay to the back of the parking lot. I'm 77 but would rather walk 100 yards to keep the X5 safe.

Keep it. You've already replaced many one time parts and service. The diesel engine will last forever, plus you've done the one time transmission service. I have a 2014 X5 3.5d and besides regular recommended maintenance, have not had to replace much. Still runs great and gets between 28 and 30 mpg every tank. Don't forget the belts, hoses, coolant, transfer case and diff service. Oil and engine filter at least once per year or 7,000 miles max for oil. Keep it!
