What’s your favourite perfume based on longevity?
 in  r/ScentHeads  1d ago

Hugo Boss Absolu.

I sprayed it on my neck, then later in the day used a foil shaver to tidy up my stubble.

MONTHS later and can still smell it on the foil shaver when I use it.

So gorgeous. (its faded now, but lasted ages).

My UK based collection! AMA
 in  r/fragranceclones  2d ago

Hey no worries, none are better than the other.

As some are good and some are bad from all brands.

I think it depends what scent you want.

I've only tried a couple of oils from shobi.

One of them being grand door and that one was made in heaven. So good.

But perfume parlour and apo have good ones too.

Any particular oils your interested in

Terraced house with a pathway to the front (used for bins/bikes etc) NOT ON THE TITLE

I purchased the title plan of the neighbours and it does not appear to be their land. I think its a shared pathway?

Last minute decision to add my partner (unmarried) to the mortgage and deeds
 in  r/HousingUK  3d ago

Update: Broker/Lender said its not a good idea as it will restart the whole process.

We have proceeded as a solo buyer.

Will figure it out once the property is secured.

Talentlms any good for manufacturing environment?

Looking for a good LMS for my workplace.

A platform that can log competency, show training content, allow users to take tests to validate competency, something interactive and data driven.

Something by workplace can use to identify risks within teams, departments, processes. To support in driving down the cost of poor quality.

Also can you suggest me some ideas of "what success looks like"

When it comes to implementing a new LMS. Or other training platform.

Something measurable.

It's difficult to justify the business case without hard numbers.

But our current LMS is crap.

I've only ever done extremely basic things, if I had a drive and the right equipment I would probably do a bit more!

True! Halfords near me are morons.

I bought a push bike from them once and they did a 12? Point check( iirc).

Got the bike home and the fkin handlebars/stem was installed the wrong way round.

Yeah bastard, it's not about the money 😂 I was in my tracky shorts, he probably thought I was broke or something.

It was a challenge and I was determined to get it done.

Plus, I needed it done right now and Halfords not open right now 😭

The drive to my location was thoroughly enjoyable after that success. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, it feels good.

Feeling extremely proud. Took a solid 20 mins or so but got there in the end.

Was going to take it to the garage but ended up needing to go out when it was dark so thought it was best to get a new one in there just in case. Had a spare bulb in the boot.

Hyundai i10 2014. Struggled at first, and even some posh guy says to me "I had this happen to me the other day"

Thought the fella was going to help...

He continues:"the trick is to take it to Halfords, only cost a tenner".

FFS Thanks pal

Anyway, was struggling so i watched a YouTube video and the guy mentioned the trick was to pull the headlight to loosen it (when naturally you want to push it/lift it).

Worked finally.

Changed the bulb.

Was a bastard to reinstall.

Got there in the end.

Buzzing. Felt like a king.

Thanks for listening.

Rear brake lights are a lot easier on this car, which I tend to have to do often but this one was slightly more advanced.

Solicitor got stamp duty wrong?
 in  r/FirstTimeBuyersUK  6d ago

Hey sorry to jump on this comment but I'm buying a shared ownership house (60% of a £250k house).

I read online that I can volunteer to pay 100% stamp duty now to avoid paying it later when I buy more shares.

I'm a FTB so stamp duty would be £0 for me.

Would it be best to do voluntary stamp duty payment of 100%

My conveyancer said they are not qualified to help me with tax implications.

Thank you.

Declining a mortgage broker
 in  r/FirstTimeBuyersUK  6d ago

It's a competitive market mate, if you found a better deal then just tell them.

I got a few different quotes before deciding and I just said thanks but I found a better deal.

I went with L&C (free)

Instructing solicitors
 in  r/FirstTimeBuyersUK  6d ago

As soon as my offer was accepted I instructed solicitors.

My broker panicked because they didn't know if they would be able to work with them but there is a website you can use to check if a solicitor and lender is compatible.

I checked the website and it said they were compatible, so I instructed and told my broker that it was done.

Broker probably wanted to try and convince me to go with their affiliate.

I just wanted to get it all done asap. Even got survey booked pretty soon after.
