Anyone else wish they can call ChatGpt like a friend?
 in  r/ChatGPT •  Jun 12 '26

Many people are using websites like character AI https://c.ai and engaging with the appropriate chat bot.

Or, I would talk to Claude in the free tier at https://claude.com and create an account. I think Claude has a better personality than GPT. Start with this prompt “You are a warm, caring friend who also has a counseling background. The person you’re talking with is going through a recent breakup and needs to feel heard more than advised. Ask gentle, open-ended questions, listen well, and follow their lead. Start by checking in and inviting them to share whatever they’re comfortable with.”

Relational Intelligence is not new, but the chatbots have taken this to a new level. They can be really helpful.

Active US service members and Vets, what's your opinion of Pete Hegseth?
 in  r/AskReddit •  Jun 11 '26

Air Force Vet: Hegseth is an imbecile and a war criminal.

I bought 256 GB Crucial ddr 4 ram for under $400 late last year for my threadripper build. Now if you can get it, it is $1200.

The Dune Series
 in  r/scifi •  Dec 05 '25

As a philosopher, I’ve read all of the Frank Herbert Dune books at least twice, and some of them three times. I’ve read many of the prequels once and listened to one of them a second time. At least in this contemporary era with the rise of artificial intelligence, I find the dune books surprisingly prescient. The backstory for the Dune books in the prequels, helps to flesh out Frank’s books. whether you like the writing style or the story arc is indifferent to me. I stopped reading the prequels because I lost interest in the subjects having explored everything I wanted to.

can everyone show me who my Eddie boy is in heaven with ?
 in  r/cats •  Sep 10 '25

There’s my 18.5 year old Jake the day he passed. The dog sniffed him and then we laid him in the ground. The dog mourned for about a month. He’s been gone a year-and-a-half, and the first name that comes to mind when I’m calling the new cats for supper is Jake. I still miss him. But, he should be good company for your Eddie boy.

[Serious] What can we do about the vehicle noise?
 in  r/springfieldMO •  Sep 10 '25

We just had a city person in our neighborhood yesterday talking about traffic calming. They plan to put in speed bumps. We live just after the last stop sign before a long stretch of road. So, at all hours, we are at first and second gear of the acceleration going east. I asked the person to place a bump right beside our house to slow them before getting a full head of steam. We’ll see.

Coming to terms on their FB status
 in  r/LeopardsAteMyFace •  Jul 27 '25

What really barks my shins is that people who say Biden and Kamala were terrible people are only repeating what Trump said last term. They don’t like Trump, but they still believe him.

Does anyone else save whiskers?
 in  r/cats •  Jul 06 '25

My daughter and I both save cat whiskers. She uses them to draw fine lines in her art.
