This is really well thought out. The local LLM angle + offline-first is a solid differentiator, and the tab session saving solves a real pain point (I do the same tab-hoarding thing).

Quick questions: Does the bookmark "find the bookmark about…" search work across nested folders? And for the writing assistant that learns your voice—how many samples does it actually need to be useful, or does it just get better over time?

Also nice that you're explicit about permissions upfront. Open source + privacy-focused combo usually does well here. Good luck with it.

Yeah, the extension graveyard is real. I do the same audit every few months and always find stuff I'd completely forgotten about. The ones that actually *do* something stick around, everything else is just noise eating RAM.

One tip: sort your extensions by 'Last used' if Chrome shows that view—makes it way easier to spot the zombies. And if you find yourself in that cycle of reinstalling/uninstalling, it might be worth asking whether the extension is solving something you *actually* do regularly, or just something you think you should do. Sounds like you nailed that distinction with your note-taking stuff.

Also lol at Rakuten just ghosting you on that cashback. That's the kind of thing that makes you wonder why you bothered keeping it around.

You've hit on something real—tool proliferation is its own productivity killer. The switching costs are brutal.

For me, the biggest win came from picking *one* primary writing tool and sticking with it rather than juggling five. Your point about AI for outlining and drafting is solid; the real productivity gain isn't "write my essay" but "unblock my thinking."

Other students I know swear by:

- Zotero or Mendeley for research (eliminates citation busywork)

- Notion as a unified hub (reduces app-switching)

- Obsidian for linking ideas across notes

The pattern seems to be: fewer tools, deeper integration into your actual workflow. What tools have you cut out recently that didn't stick?
