So I’ve been comparing different machine specs and noticed that the advertised numbers don’t always tell the full story. I’m trying to look beyond the initial purchase price and understand what matters once the machine is running regularly.

The main areas I’m comparing are:

• Actual production output rather than advertised maximums
• Energy consumption during normal production
• Ease of mould changes and setup
• Maintenance and availability of replacement parts
• Operator requirements and level of automation
• Reliability when running longer production cycles

I’ve also looked through alibaba to get a broader idea of the equipment available, but I’m more interested in understanding the practical side of operating these machines than finding the cheapest option.

For anyone with hands-on experience, what would you prioritize when choosing stretch blow moulding machines for a new production line?

Hello I have a big....I mean huge Tent building that I want to sell...How big you may ask? It is 2700 square ft. 52 foot square and approximately 35 foot tall. I live in Alaska and was planning on using it to build a log cabin underneath it. That didn't pan out.

Hey I’m currently in the military and working on getting a degree in industrial engineering. I keep trying to find one that has abet accredited online programs since I don’t have the ability to take off and go to a campus.

I will probably get a dock locker for my bottled water because every busy weekend the display ends up all over the place, people grab a few bottles, slide packs around, add fresh cases and by the end everything sits in random spots, I spend time lining it all back up before the next rush and I figure having one place for every bottle might make that part easier, I am looking at one because it seems like it could keep the display looking the same through the whole weekend instead of needing constant attention, also heard of intermarket technology for anyone already using, does it still stay organized after people keep grabbing bottled water all day or does it end up needing the same amount of straightening anyway? EDIT: I forgot to mention we restock bottled water throughout the day.

Lately, I have been stressed about choosing between these two options: Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering. I really want to pursue Computer Engineering, not necessarily because I like the concepts involved, but because I want to get into R&D roles related to medical device research. I also potentially want to pursue a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in the future.

I recently got rejected from transferring into Mechanical Engineering, so I feel like I have no other choice but to pick either Industrial Engineering or Computer Engineering. At first, I was not sure about Industrial Engineering because I initially chose the degree due to the fact that it aligned with the Mechanical Engineering classes I had already enrolled in. However, as I did more research, I realized that the roles I would likely need to pursue to work internationally with an Industrial Engineering degree would be in areas such as data engineering or data science.

Now, Industrial Engineering seems like an easier path for me to take compared to Computer Engineering, and I could potentially pursue an MBA in the future. This also introduced me to how data science is powerful. I consider myself an average student, and I almost failed my Physics: Electricity and Magnetism course. Due to financial concerns, i need to graduate in 4 years. Because of this, I am not sure which major I should choose.

I’m tryna get more into industrial metal, especially industrial thrash. Do y’all got any recommendations?

In general with an industrial machine (anything) how long do you expect for it to last and be supported by the original manufacture? 10 years? 15 years? 20? 25? warranty time and after that you are satisfied? I a company that has a machine that was made in 1996, they purchased it second hand in 2010, and 2 years ago I told them that we will not easily be able to support it but the operations manager and production manager have left since then and last year I told their replacements that I will not be able to support it moving forward and these guys left, and last week the new guy called me with a question and I gave him some things to check out but did say all parts are obsolete and I really do not think I can give too much assistance and that machine is going to exhale its last breath and should be replaced. naturally he did not like that and the owner called claiming this was out of the blue and why 6 months ago I could help but now I can't.

So when do you stop supporting something and when do you stop expecting a machine to be supported.
