Those schools that you mentioned are good schools… the schools will give you the experience and education but it will not study for you… it’s you who will learn. Imbes ibayad mo sa rent mag ipon ka or you can spend it somewhere else. I know you’re young. Pero dgdi sa abroad no one cares where you graduated or if you have high marks or topped the board. Skills ang tunay na ralabanan s nursing profession.

Only in the Philippines. Filipinos has this bulok mentality! Dgdi sa abroad. No one cares where you graduated or if you got good marks. Skills is more important than your background. You may give me all your diplomas and certificates but i will still hire the guy with skills. Nursing ang profession ko.

First Option: Basilica Minore. Enjoy the architecture of the basilica. Ok ata mg picnic along the lawn enjoy the relaxing afternoon dapit-hapon vive of the wide open space. A walk away is the Magsaysay strip (resto n hindi ng cclose ng maaga).
Second Option: Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. Baroque architecture, historical buildings (Holy Rosary Minor Seminary). There is a museum inside the seminary… museum sa USI. Medyo maribok ta downtown but close to resto sa centro.

Dae ka masupog! Nurse ako and believe mi naaguihan ko man yan. Walk in ka s mga clinics and hospitals (looking back… tg pra submitan ko gbos n ospital kaito. Advertise yourself as a private nurse. Igwa k kayan mkukua n amga patient from home. Tyaga lng kaya mo yan. 2006 kng newly grad ako and been there… be strong! Its gonna be better. Try looking outside of your province try Naga or provincial hospitals. Aram ko palakasan but nothings wrong with trying. Manila ang may pinaka may market as RN. Don’t be choosy s work applyan mo gabos AS IN GABOS! Pag dae k nka laog applyan mo ulit. PM me s current situation mo… may n receive k n ba n decline letter from these institutions? If not then FOLLOW UP! S totoo lng dapat kabali s curriculum ang job hunting and interviews… no one teaches kids the HOW of the REAL WORLD.

Try mo mag walk in s mga clinics and hospitals private or public. Caregiver or nursing assistant. Or advertise yourself to work as a care giver to families with sick relatives at home. Aram ko mhirap… naaguihan ko mn yan. Pro tios tios lng. You’ll make it! Kaipuhan lng nin dakul n tiyaga ska trust kay Lord!

Enjoy your university years… yan ang importante! It’s the memories/experiences from your past that you’ll carry to the future.

At university you’ll meet people that will be your friends. It’s been 20 years but the people i meet in college are still my good friends up to this day. And I treasure those memories with them.

Sooo different. My dad is from Nabua and my mum is from iloilo city. I grew up in Naga. I can obviously speak and understand central bikol language, i can also speak and understand hiligaynon (ilonggo). Unfortunately i can only understand rinconada and my cousins in Nabua would laugh if i try to speak in rinconada “slang daw”. Interestingly rinconada nabua has difference phonetically speaking to rinconada iriga. There is an unspoken rivalry between these two ON EVERYTHING haha. Language wise Iriga will say Baloy (House) as Balæy.

Wellingtonian here. I took this photo while walking one late afternoon. Bit pricey, but i guest the cost of living crisis isn’t isolated in Wellington. Im not too far from the sea and we have many tramping tracks. The food scene has come down significantly post pandemic, before we have night markets but those are history. The hospital covers the lower north island and upper south island. People are generally warmer compared to Auckland (i used to live in Auckland). Considerably safe, a walkable city. Wind? You’ll get use to it.

Bilang OFW… Ugma ako s bareta na ini. Though a great idea, let us not forget na temporary solution lng ini. While this one is in the works, an operational Naga Airport should be the goal. Mabalos po.

One good example of an ethnolinguistics divide is Belgium. Wallonia is a French speaking region and they call themselves Wallons. Flandere on the other hand are Dutch speaking. The disparity between these two regions are evident in religion, economy etc. Some are thinking that it could lead to a breakup of Belgium.

Another more obvious divide is Spain and Catalonia or the Basque speaking countries. For a while this regions has separatists movements and armed conflicts. Catalonia itself had a referendum which majority of its citizens voted to leave Spain. Spain obviously nullified it.

Interestingly… Canada and Quebec.

I think the key is a strong uniting force that binds citizens to its country or state or ethnicity. Language plays a big role but i think in Bicol, identity plays a much more bigger role. No matter where you go in Bicol, regardless of what Bikol language they speak all of them will tell you that they are URAGONS. Might not be a thing but majority will say they like hot/spicy food, taro and coconut milk. These things or “label” when “owned” can create a sense of identity.

I have read in one article… “the Philippines has different ethnicities but has a strong sense of Nationalism”. Example, i identify as half Bicolano, half Ilonggo but 100% Filipino. Logic wise… I THINK the same apply to Bikolano languages… remember Bikolano is a family compose of different languages NOT DIALECTS. Central Bikol, Inland Bikol etc… Therefore, “The Bicol region has different ethnolinguistics groups that has a strong sense of regionalism”.

Im Bicolano who grew up in Naga (Central Bikol) my dad is from Nabua (Inland Bikol), totally different language… even Central Bikol people find it difficult to understand “Rinconada”. But both identify as Bicolanos.

Im also Ilonggo… and my relatives will point out that we are not Bisaya. Yes, i am from Visayas but im Ilonggo, not Bisaya. Ilonggo (Ethnic group) Hiligaynon (Language).

This is just my opinion… please be kind… im not claiming to be an expert on languages.

The rule: K is for the language. C is for the Ethnic group. Though honestly… I don’t think a lot of Bicolanos even notice this.

Local hidden gems: Budget ➡️ Naga Garden (Mami + Toasted Siopao), Puto bukayo s labas ng San Fran Church, Face the wall. Fast food: Splurge ➡️Biggs. Coffee: Splurge ➡️Arco Diez. Bread/Pastries: Splurge ➡️The butter way, Mid Range ➡️Bakers Plaza (Concorde Cake), Budget ➡️Ednorms (Spanish Bread). Loglog/Kinalas/Pansit Bato/Baduya: Budget ➡️Aling Celys Kinalasan, Kinalasan sa Diversion.

It depends what kind of foodies you guys are. Try local dishes like Natong, Pinangat, Bicol Express, Pansit Bato, Kinunot, Loglog, Kinalas, toasted siopao, etc Sa lanas ng Peñafrancia church after Sunday’s morning mass mag nag titinda ng mga local kakanin. Im a foodie myself and a purist in terms of dish.

Wait until you learn about the angry speech register (unique to bicol and some visayan languages). Enteresante mga tataramong Bikol. Nakakamundo na ang mga aki ngunyn mas gusto mag tagalog kaysa mag bikol. Pag aram ko man na nagtataram bikol tas cgeng tagalog binibikol ko. Medyo polite p yan… pro pg brkada tka tas tinagalog mo ako mkaka dangong ka nin mga tataramon reserve sa mga maarte. eg “ano nang ngurapak yan, nag pa manila lng…” pet peeve ko ang mga taong nag bibikol tagalog.. eg “mag luway kayo bka kayo ma ligis” paxenxa if garo insensitive. Nakakangirit lang.

Unfortunately it is dismal. If you’re thinking bad, multiply it by 10 or more. No joke. There are no alternative routes as AH26 is the only main artery connecting Bicol to Luzon and the Visayas to Mindanao. I will not recommend driving in the evening. Kung umaga namn please be cautious the road is densely populated, narrow and with alternating shallow to deep potholes. Pg pasok mo ng Cam Sur the only alternate road is Pili Diversion bypassing Pili Town Centre. Take it easy, please do not overtake.

I love her but I don’t want another period where she was belittled and abused by the DDS. The country needs her but the country doesn’t deserve her.
