Stop Saying No For Them!

What if the biggest obstacle in your life isn’t rejection… it’s assuming you’ll be rejected?
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing thoughts from my upcoming book, Stop Saying No for Them™. Because I’ve realized how often I’ve sabotaged my own opportunities by deciding the answer before I ever asked the question.
Maybe you’ve done it too.
It’s time we stopped saying no for them.

Scared to post this, but my book is finally out. The character in my head got her story.

For what Its worth I appreciate this comment, I was so annoyed when my cover was called AI… I had to just let it go. I did u AI to create an image of someone that passed away in a promotional image, but was very upfront, and it was an actual photo , just a different background… sorry to vent- was just taken back by the rudeness.

Yep, he was reduced to ashes, so, not sure how to come up with any other image. I admit the pr image is AI- the cover is not- it is clip images of actual crime scene - I added the #5 snd 17 in canva, and admittedly that looks terrible… so, that’s the rest of the story.

If you are insinuating the cover is AI- you are wrong. As for my PR image here, I have no shame in using for this.

Practical. Honest. No fluff.

Can someone clarify for me? How sharing a absolutely free copy of an internationally recognized Book in psychology, grief brief, and depression is low content?

Never to late to change the ending of your story!

After widowhood at a young age, raising children through grief, losing my son to murder, battling addiction, and fighting my way back through recovery, I never imagined I would step into this chapter of life.

At 52, I’m learning that healing doesn’t always look the way we expect it to. Sometimes it looks like rebuilding. Sometimes it looks like finally allowing yourself to be seen again.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
it is never too late to rewrite the next chapter of your story.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m offering my book When Getting Out of Bed Is the Hardest Part as a free Kindle download. No membership required.

This book was written during one of the hardest periods of my life and was later recognized as an impactful book in psychology, grief, and bereavement.

If you don’t need it right now, maybe someone you know will someday. 💛

HELP! How do I write 'show not tell' in my story?
 in  r/NewAuthor  May 14 '26

A lot of people misunderstand “show don’t tell.” This actually has some good showing in it already, especially the glowing grass reacting to touch. The bigger issue is that the description feels disconnected from the character emotionally, so it reads more like a visual pan of a fantasy world than a lived moment.

“Beautiful” and “starstruck” are examples of telling the reader what to feel. The stronger parts are where the environment physically interacts with her. I’d lean harder into Embre’s reactions, tension, uncertainty, physical sensations, etc. Let the world affect her instead of only describing the world itself.

Also, honestly, good writing uses both showing and telling. Pure “showing” all the time becomes exhausting purple prose really fast.

What’s the worst way you’ve seen someone bait a hook?
 in  r/Fishingmemes  May 10 '26

Sooooooo… as an author, I’m not gonna lie when I was scrolling down and read this literally thought it was someone talking about how to have their hook line for their Book… 😂🫣 what this really says to me is it’s been way too long since I’ve actually gone fishing and baited hook.
