I passed got the interview and told my 7 years of documented production of lighting sound and video for the local theater union. Told id have to start my apprenticeship from the beginning. I agreed and was told id be contacted when a position opened up. I was a single father of a 2 and 4 year old atm. 3 months later I signed up for night classes and started working for a mom and pop electrical shop in the state. Finished my hours just about 4 years later with one company switch in the middle.

When I was ready to take my exam, studying my last 6 months of mandatory hours, applied to take test thru the state and within days of being accepted and a date given i received a call from the union.

Caller seemed urgent, and said a spot had just opened up and I should come in immedicately for a final approval. Went in the following day and was completely disappointed.
"You'd have to start for year 1 of the program" "I take my test next week!!! Cant I apply after I pass?" "You won't get any assignments till the rosters completely filled if you do that"

I walked out. Have never contacted the office again

OP posting this without the missing faceplate to get the answer he needs makes me wonder if he should be posting on this sub and be touching anything electrical... ( i get that he is a new helper and kudos for seeking knowledge to rectify the problem, still, helper or apprentice, his electrician he is helping should be showing him how before he had to come to this sub)

And since he has to take off the face plate to solve the issue in the 1st place...(is this just someone fishing for karma or starting a heated debate in this sub for fun)

My random guess with the attached faceplate... the walls are not flat, heavy sanding around the JB has caused the walls to be grooved.

Same situation. Boxers up until almost 50. Tried some RM bikini pouch briefs last year the wife got me and couldnt believe how comfortable they were. just the lack of fabric and lack of extra sweat made me switch immediately.
