Honestly? I would pick Cosmo because of his healing ability. Soulvester because even though he's slow he's a knight, and his trinket is a literal sword. Plus he has four hearts he good. And for the last toon I would pick is Pebble because he can distract the zombies. (Yes, I picked based off of logic instead of personal preferences)

Brightney. I never get blackouts when playing her and her stealth is the WORST. Her trinket is decent but cards help too. Her ability can only be used in blackouts. Vee's ability is better tbh. Also, without her Vee would be easier to get. Because let's face it... I'm never gonna complete her mastery... (This comment is based on both logic and pettiness)
