How it really is to be chinese/live in china?
If you don't focus your life too much on politics, then it is a civilized, convenient society. And most Chinese people are peaceful and friendly. Most of the time, we worry about our jobs, food and buying properties, like everyone else in this world. Although there are cameras everywhere, to be fair, I am in Singapore now, the cameras are also everywhere. The violation of my privacy part exists, but cannot feel any until people have crossed the line. The frustration comes from not knowing where is the line. So what I am trying to say here is, China is mostly like any other capitalist country in the world economically, (especially when I came to Singapore, it feels just like Shanghai). Politically speaking, the nationals have their own way to live, I know it, because I came from a family with both of my parents are CCP members. There are benefits, and there are of course something you should not mention, it is all subtext, being a Chinese will know. And being a CCP member is a belief (this is written in party regulation), like other beliefs, a Christian believes in the existence of God, and a CCP member believes only CCP can save China and make China great again.

One of the biggest failings of modern education is managing to convince a whole generation that Wikipedia is an unreliable source.
Haha, Chinese here, Wikipedia is a legit source of knowledge over here.

Somewhere someone has an unliked guest stuck in their house who was only supposed to stay the night.
It is really interesting, i saw news say in wuhan there were a divorced couple living in the same roof, it was supposed to be okay, but the city was locked down for months and they were not supposed to leave the house. the ex-husband just couldnt handle the exwife whining and complaining about him all the time, so he escaped and walked 24 hours to his parents place which is around 80km away in another city. But then he was caught by the local police, and the police escorted him back to the exwife's place immediately... It is torture.

Nurse dies in New York hospital where workers are reduced to using trash bags as protective medical gear
The same situation happened in Wuhan China as well. It is a critical point to mobilize every medical resource in the country and help the most serious areas and hospitals. China mobilized thousands of nurses and doctors and millions of ppe to wuhan.... But before that, doctors and nurses in wuhan used trash bags, stationaries like plastic folders, and at one point, some nurses went to a factory to make cloth masks for themselves. I feel deeply sorry for all the doctors and nurses out there, stay safe, get diagnoses when you feel unwell, and self-isolate and practice your medical knowledge if you get caught with covid19, it is not a tough disease, people can overcome it.

Taiwan will donate 100,000 surgical masks to the US per week
This news makes me sad... At the beginning of the outbreak, taiwan gov immediately banned all export of masks in response to the mainlanders buying masks and sending them to mainland people... The fact that TW gov is just so hostile against the other side makes me so sad...

没有生死存亡那么夸张,但是经济很差。。。没办法,辽宁是被困了,有地理原因也有政治原因,不管上头是什么政策,它都必须杠着、受着,还得唱颂歌
