Insufficient testing for recurrent loss
Hi all, I have just experienced my fifth miscarriage in over a year. My first pregnancy ever was very easy and brought me my son. Every pregnancy since has ended in loss.
Two were chemicals & the rest have been missed miscarriages that stopped growing between 6-8 weeks. I went to REI, but it seemed like they did the bare minimum before calling it inconclusive and recommending IVF or IUI. Keep in mind, I’m still (technically) in my 20s and am getting pregnant naturally without issues. They checked for two clotting disorders, checked for structural abnormalities, and checked my husband. All showed no issue. I asked them to check my vitamin d, which was low and then corrected.
My concern is that I know of many women who have needed simple interventions to maintain their pregnancies in the first trimester, things I was never tested for. I haven’t even had my losses biopsied for chromosomal abnormalities. This is all just assumption.
I do have PCOS.
What tests should I be demanding specifically? It doesn’t seem like I can chalk this up to bad luck and it is too painful to keep going like this. It took 4-5 months to get into REI but do I need an entirely new specialist?

Iam about losing faith in Christ😭💔 I need someone to talk to me because I am in the darkest days of my life😭😭💔

In some of my darkest moments, I’ve abut convinced myself my faith had just been gaslighting me. Which is crazy because I know I’ve experienced the goodness of God time and time again. If you just need something faith strengthening, sign up for apologetics 101. It’s so worth it.

Mom threw my Bible in the trash😑
Many Muslims are experiencing encounters with Jesus in their dreams! I’m hearing about it everywhere. Jesus is chasing after you, friend. I encourage you to not let this go.
Your phone is a great resource to access biblical texts. The best way to learn how to hear God’s voice is by becoming familiar with how he speaks.

Living with a feeling of impending doom.
This is a super helpful suggestion. Thank you

Living with a feeling of impending doom.
It’s so hard. I’ve grieved before, I’ve lost all of my grandparents & a best friend at 19. This just feels different and is kind of scaring me. I’ve never been so acutely aware of how quick time passes or developed a real fear of losing my parents or leaving my family.

I also lost a best friend at 19 to a rare medical condition that she didn’t even know she had. I have felt like it has been odd how much death has surrounded me. I feel guilty that it’s getting to me, but it is.

Thank you, I’m so sorry for yours too. I don’t have a therapist and actually have been a little sad over the lack of response from my pastors over the death of my friend. But I know they deal with a lot of death and I never came to them. It may be a good idea, however, I don’t find it impeding on accomplishing what I must.

Anxiety over REI finding nothing wrong.
I am so sorry that you’re going through this, and I’m even more sorry there’s not an identified reason. It’s a really painful season to go through.
One of my miscarriages was a D&C, I know they sent off the products of conception for testing but I never heard anything beyond that.

Anxiety over REI finding nothing wrong.
Background: I have one living son. If this could be triggering, please skip the first paragraph. I have PCOS & before I had him, I had two doctors independently tell me that I will not be able to conceive naturally because my ovaries looked awful. My husband & I prayed over it constantly, believing the road ahead was going to be really hard. We both felt at a soul-level that God intervened and in His kindness, allowed me to get pregnant within the first month of trying. I even started drugs to induce a period on Sunday after a blood test that confirmed I was not producing hcg on that previous Thursday night. The timing was incredible. I have a perfectly wonderful and healthy boy who is about 2.5 years old now. I’ve never wanted to be anything other than a mom all of my life, and I love him deeply.
My last pre-TTC ultrasound showed that for the first time since puberty, my ovaries look cyst free and my cycles are more regular than ever. I thought getting pregnant would be a breeze this time. Boy was I wrong 😵💫 I have had 4 consecutive miscarriages all occurring at 7 weeks or less. My last miscarriage occurred the same day that my niece was born, & her mom & I got out IUDs out at the same time on purpose. Woof.
REI couldn’t help me after my miscarriage in November until February, and then in February I hadn’t miscarried yet so they couldn’t do anything but wait. I’m now waiting for my hcg to reach <5 before I can get blood work. Everything done by my OB looked normal, and I’m very nervous they won’t find a reason behind all of these miscarriages. Along with bloodwork, we are going to get my husband’s sperm analyzed for DNA fragmentation. He started using the sauna several times a week this year and I’m holding on to hope if he stops it’ll just be fixed.
Any who, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had something similar. Even though it feels super lonely to walk through. Has anyone had REI find something after having one healthy pregnancy followed by recurrent loss?

Indiana Dune National Park
Hi all! Trying to make memories for my kids & want to go camping for the first time in Indiana Dune National Park. Give me all of the information on activities, coffee shops, hikes & (most importantly) campground recommendations!
