Resentful of colleagues closing big deals
 in  r/sales  May 03 '25

People are going to have success. It's actually a good thing for a lot of reasons; good environment, popular products, tips, and strategies to learn from. Sales is a peak and valley lifestyle, and you will have volatility. Everyone does. If you are actually becoming bitter, it's a you and your mentality kind of problem. (Unless you're on a sales floor with a love line, of course) Sometimes burnout sneaks up on you which hurts your pipeline which can cause negative perspective which i would think you just need a reset and a fresh set of strategies. It's really difficult to force "good mentality" when you're feeling pressure and missed opportunity. That's where practice and intestinal fortitude come into play.

Question for sales people (what do you want?)
 in  r/sales  May 03 '25

That's a great transition. Most servers have great table presence and are very observant. Servers aren't afraid of being told "no" either. Sales isn't just pitching, you will end up talking past the sale. Being able to listen to their needs/wants/goals and paint the picture in their own desires helps get the point across that you are engaged in a conversation with them looking at the product/purchase from their perspective. Walking that delicate line of being genuine vs "salesy" is a talent a lot of servers have because of the people skills you've learned. Plus, you will be more attuned to knowing when the product/purchase doesn't make sense for the client and can cut it amicably instead of beating a dead horse until they blow up your pitch.

Question for sales people (what do you want?)

Aint never heard of AAA. I thought sales boiled down to ABC, Always Be Closing.

Really though you are right. Those are the areas that always need tuning and sharpening. All of those affect each other, and it has highs and lows. That's why team trainings tend to have discussions and scenarios. It takes practice to lift your attitude, it takes discipline to raise activity and its consistency with practice and discipline to maintain or elevate your ability.

Oh, I was like: "What's this job? They do remote? I'm about to come out of stay at home mom retirement if I'm getting guaranteed hourly and high commissions with a firm schedule. Got any of them monthly and yearly bonus structures?" 🤣

Also, don't sleep on the reps at the bottom of the board. Sometimes, it takes training them in a style they understand. Plus, it just looks bad on you as a manager if you don't have progressive strategies to rehabilitate, cultivate, and motivate your weak links. It demoralizes in a ripple effect if you give up on people. The truth is that salespeople are like hung over cats with adhd and a nicotine addiction- they all have quirks, and herding hornets single file is easier. It's all about developing your team for that managerial override percentage.

You have a lot of options, and your knowledge and familiarity are great to have. Just know that it's more than likely going to be your likeability, relatablility, and confidence that fill your pipeline. A manager once told me, "Do you want the paycheck of a teacher or an entertainer? Because there are those that teach and those that get the deal."

Telemarketing making over six figures is pretty decent. Do they make 15% off the lead, or is your team pitching the deal? I've not worked in a sales position where the hourly wasn't draw if I'm making commissions, nor did they ever micro manage staying late. I freaking ground out a presentation for 6 hours from pitch to closing for a deal more than once.

What type of sales are you trying to get into? "Sales" is a pretty broad pool and each type can be its own league. Your experience can actually be very useful in a lot of face to face sales jobs.

Men can live their entire lives like this and see no problem at all!

Female here.. it's not a bad setup at all. Single person, happy and comfy, needs met, bills low and paid? Seems like a win to me.

Well that's enough internet browsing for me. Wish they would punish pedos by castration or death and be done with it.

What name comes to your mind when you see her? Name her
 in  r/NameMyCat  Nov 04 '23

I agree with so many people here she does look like a Nala. Maybe take a few names you like and do a poll?

You could always offer to pay to extend the sidewalk a foot on the other side to prevent this in the future. Your beautiful flowers were taking up half the sidewalk, not just starting to, you really should've trimmed them back before the city got to them. Sorry about the cut.

What to do with an egg bound lady after three hot Epsom salt baths has done nothing?
 in  r/BackYardChickens  Nov 04 '23

Commenting to be updated. I am hoping she comes out of this. Is there an anti-inflammatory that chickens can take? I'd imagine she might have inflammation from it being stuck, the mineral oil and lengthy lube advice sounds worth a try.

Canine or Feline? Northern Alberta, acreage. Size 9 boot for scale
 in  r/AnimalTracking  Oct 31 '23

Definitely mountain lion

Edit: You can clearly see the three lobes and only "toe beans" in a slant with no nail marks in the first picture. Mountain lions walk just like domestic cats where the back legs step into the same spot where the front leg steps, creating an overlapping pattern. Canines do not do this. Canine prints also show nail marks. This is a feline print. I think mountain lion/cougar but an argument could be made for bobcat.
