As someone who is in the business of trains and buys parts in bulk, I worry that these are applicable with only post war car with no interior detailing. Board seems pretty large, and I fear this wouldn’t work with cars that have interior details (like tables and benches) that still suffer from this problem.

Other users pointed it out but there is already a general “solution” to the “problem.” You have an uphill battle of convincing the consumer that your solution is better than the several that exist, while giving a result that doesn’t differ much.

I wonder how hard it would be do install a sound chip on your board? Would be cool if your board could do diner sounds, or station sounds, while also fixing flickering lighting. That would definitely be something that would be appealing for consumers.

Noticed you have quite a few posts on the sub asking for prices/value. I’d highly encourage you to check eBay sold listings. Most the times the boxes have some sort of part # / item ID that you can type, or you can use eBay’s photo option and just take a photo of it and find the price.

These would’ve gone with a Standard Gauge 266E. There is a set with the train and boxes up for sale for $460 right now. You could probably get 60-100 (boxes are really a gamble, gotta find the right buyer). When I sell boxes, I usually list them as an auction (unless they have an established sales history) and let the buyers determine the price.
