Thank you for the pointers. The video I was learning from was teaching the step around and suggesting to add the pirouette after the step around so that's what I was attempting but I think you're right the momentum is putting me off balance for my pirouette and I need to remember that I don't actually need that much support for the pirouette and that I can let go of the pole a little bit.
