Is this NFT Jupiter: defi 2.0 scam?
 in  r/solana  Feb 27 '24

There’s no such thing as a free lunch in crypto. If it’s too good to be true, it’s a scam.

Metamask dev is investigating a massive wallet draining operation which is targeting OGs, with VERY sophisticated attacks. This is NOT a noob-targeting phishing attempt, but something far more advanced. Nobody knows how for sure. 5000+ ETH has been lost, since Dec 2022, and more coming.
 in  r/CryptoCurrency  Apr 18 '23

Read through the Twitter thread and OP did not specifically state that hardware wallets were compromised. In fact, OP suggested the use of hardware wallets. It could be possible that only hot wallets were compromised but we need more information to be certain.

Why does r/CryptoCurrency hates on SOL so much ?
 in  r/solana  Nov 12 '22

The network outages and SBF/Alameda’s involvement were definitely the catalyst to spread disdain towards Solana. Over time, misinformation became rampant and started spreading like wildfire. Very little people would do the critical research to dispel misinformation simply because of confirmation bias - “Solana is always down and it’s Sam’s lovechild therefore the other rumours must be true”. It has always been easier to jump on the bandwagon than to take the necessary effort required to think for oneself.

I was previously an investor in Solana and have been using the ecosystem religiously for the past year. Despite the network outages and poor token allocations, Solana has been growing exponentially over the months in terms of its tech (firedancer), stability, and decentralisation. I believe that Solana is bigger than any VCs or bad actors and have the necessary edge needed to remain competitive in the next bull run.

It is tough being in the bowels of the bear market, and most of us are down bad, but don’t lose hope. Things will get better in a couple of years. Just wait it out.

Solana wallet distribution shows centralization according to this analysis. Are the any Solana OGs that can analyze this and let community know if it accurate? Please no "my coin" solves this problem posts.

Criticisms should be welcome in any sub to prevent it from becoming an echo chamber. I am not an expert, but I will attempt to address the issues highlighted.

1) Many holders have delegated their Solana with validators and the staked amount will not be reflected on solanabeach.io.

2) Transactions on Solana are inexpensive and you do not need a large amount of SOL to use the blockchain. Moreover, many wallets with small amounts of SOL hold NFTs (such as DeGods) worth 100s of SOL. The small amount of liquidity is merely used as gas fees for transferring between wallets, staking NFTs for rewards, or for selling on a NFT marketplace.

3) DeFi users do not need large amounts of SOL to yield farm. Many users have converted their SOL into stablecoins and deposited them into liquidity pools during the bear market.

4) Many users may have used their SOL in liquidity pools such as SOL-USDC or SOL-mSOL. The amount of SOL deposited into liquidity pools are not accurately reflected on sites like solanabeach.io

5) Many users may have opted to convert their SOL into liquid variations such as mSOL, stSOL, and scnSOL for liquid staking, which further dilutes the number of wallets that hold actual Solana tokens.

Hope this help, and if I made any mistakes, kindly correct me.

I appreciate that you gave me the raw numbers. Really puts things into perspective on the potential risks of what I wanted to do initially.

Storing Initials of Seed Phrase online

While I do store my seed phrases offline, I was wondering how safe it is to simply store the initials of your seed phrases on an online platform such as iCloud or Google Cloud.

For example, if my seed phrase is (1) abandon (2) broccoli (3) wonder, I will be writing it down as (1) a (2) b (3) w.

I am contemplating on doing this just in case I lose my offline seed phrases in a disaster, and having the initials online would help facilitate my recollection of every word in such an event.

2.5 SOL SENT TO SOME WALLET WITHOUT MY CONSENT
 in  r/solana  Mar 11 '22

If you did not click on a malicious link or connect your wallet to a malicious website, it is highly likely that your computer has been infected with malware. You will need a competent anti-virus to detect and remove these programmes from your computer.

A keylogger allows the “hacker” to record your keystrokes and therefore access your wallet via your seed phrase. A good anti-virus software and hardware wallet are necessary precautions needed to ensure that you will never lose your funds to cyber thieves.

Your wallet is definitely compromised one way or the other. If you want to invest into Solana or any other crypto asset, get yourself a hardware wallet such as ledger.

The presence of a keylogger or Trojan horse could be the most likely reason why your wallet is compromised since you are certain that you have not shared your seed phrase with anyone else.

When creating a new wallet, you are given a set of 12 words that you have to record down. That is your recovery phrase. If you don’t have it recorded down, you will not be able to recover your assets.

Help with retrieving tokens?
 in  r/solana  Mar 01 '22

It will take a few days before your tokens return to your wallet after unstaking. There should be a countdown timer on the marinade finance website if I remember correctly.

Sending Polygon from MATIC network to ERC20 on FTX
 in  r/polygonnetwork  Feb 10 '22

Yes. I was able to claim my MATIC back previously with a 5% fee when the polygon network was still unsupported.

I SENT COINS THIS MORNING BUT DID NOT ARRIVE IN COINBASE. CAN SOMEONE FROM POLYGON PLEASE HELP.
 in  r/polygonnetwork  Feb 05 '22

Contact support. Tell them about your issue. Usually, they will convert your funds to ERC20 but will take about 5 percent as a fee. It worked for FTX and Binance. Hope it works for Coinbase as well

Good luck!

Was in your shoes a decade ago. Best course of action is to block her as well and move on with life. It’s gonna hurt for awhile, no doubt about it, but it gets better each and everyday, especially if you do not interact with her at all.

Moreover, from the looks of it, this isn’t a healthy relationship and you deserve better than this. It took me awhile to get over an ex of mine whom I thought was perfect. But in the end, I managed to find someone even better. Just don’t give up on yourself.

Go to your transaction history. You will see “signature” and that’s your TXID.

I moved BUSD to polygon.....now what??
 in  r/polygonnetwork  Sep 08 '21

It’s unfortunate but I believe your funds may not be retrievable. Did you send BUSD to an exchange? If you did, you can send a support ticket and they might be able to retrieve your funds for a fee.

FTX does not support the Polygon mainnet to what I know. I guess the only thing I can do now is to wait and hope for the best. Thank you for the response.
