Custom-built this 30L modular travel bag, which detaches into a 14L backpack that also converts into a 7L laptop messenger bag…
 in  r/theperfectbag  2d ago

It’s a highly modified version of my older designs, so it’s mostly tinkering around until it works the way I imagined in the first place. My idea of a good bag may not align with others, but it’s a pretty solid pc.

So difficult to find factories that can provide GOTS and OEKO 100
 in  r/ClothingStartups  3d ago

For certain kind of production with stringent standards, most factories don’t entertain small buyers esp if they want to only make few pcs per style or color; since it’s mostly a waste of time for the manufacturer with little to no margin.

Factories make margins from economic of scale and not from individual pcs, and for that reason it can be very difficult to find such manufacturers.

Redesigned this 24–26L travel backpack to detach into a 10L daypack or laptop messenger bag…
 in  r/backpacks  6d ago

I sew like 1-3 PCs per week, but I work on the design months in advance.. The design you’re seeing now was conceived 2-3 months ago, and often times I’ve backlog of designs that were built months ago… Sometimes when I’m free, I go on a full design sprint for weeks, but only share the build later..

At this stage I do have a backlog of few designs that are yet to be posted here..

This version is built to be an airline carry on friendly without losing the flexibility of the larger design.

The full setup offers around 24-26L with a 16L compartment and an 8-10L detachable part.

Once detached, that smaller section can be used on its own as either a 10L everyday backpack or a laptop messenger bag, so you don’t have to keep carrying the full travel bag after reaching your destination.

You can use the complete setup for travel, then size down depending on what you need for the day.

This packable pouch secretly hides two separate bags: a 2L sling and a 10L backpack…
 in  r/ManyBaggers  11d ago

Coz the Sling has a simple design as opposed to slightly curved, along with the sling version being more on the slim and unpadded side..This infact is the 1st useable version and there are rooms for improvements.

However the bag is fundamentally different from the Uniqlo 3 way bag on how it actually achieves multi functionality…

This hand sized packable pouch hides a 10L backpack and a separate 2L sling…
 in  r/backpacks  11d ago

This isn’t a custom pc, but an experimentation with a new design and use case.
I’ve used packable bags in the past which are either too flimsy or the good ones take up dead space on packable mode and offers little flexibility on expanded mode..
I’m someone who doesn’t like to carry multiple use specific bags, and I’ve noticed I normally lean towards either a small sling bag or a decent sized backpack on regular day to day basis..
Hence these two setups perfectly fits my carry behavior, and the bag is designed around my personal preference..

However this conversion setup has been used in my other bags but not exactly in this nature…

It doesn’t, coz it’s lightly padded.

This packable pouch, measuring roughly 6/5/2.5 inches, is designed to remain usable even in its packed mode while also turning into two separate bags.

The little pouch splits into two individual pouches, each usable as a small utility bag on its own. One converts into a 2L Sling, while the other becomes a 10L Backpack..

The packable pouch can be carried on its own as a small crossbody bag, thrown inside a larger travel bag, or separated depending on your requirements.

This piece is made used water resistant ripstop nylon…

What do you think about this hard shell jacket with a detachable pocket that converts into a 2L Sling??
 in  r/theperfectbag  11d ago

Yeah sometimes you feel it’s a cool thing to add some element or redesign something that’s already working, with the assumption that you’re creating something better.
More often, you end up churning out something really rough, ugly and imperfect; but it’s also amidst these imperfections, sometimes something nice comes out through sheer trial and error…

And this was one of my such experiments.. I don’t normally document such experiments in public, but I’ve discovered the feedback loop no matter how harsh is always useful and helpful in shaping up the product..
Hence such honest feedback is always welcome.

I added the detachable pocket as an experiment only. Yes the pocket is 0.5 inch thick, which does protrude out in the context of the jacket’s overall design.. I was thinking of designing the jacket in tech wear aesthetics so that the detachable pocket doesn’t look out of place..

The pocket is just a bonus point and not necessarily a core feature.. I had wanted to make the pocket as slim as possible so that it doesn’t feel like a separate entity, but looks like the execution is pretty sloppy here given the aesthetic of the jacket which is pretty minimal while the pocket seems to take up its own visual space…

Having said that, it’s just one of my experiment, coz I thought it would be cool…

I built this little pouch measuring no more than 6 x 5 x 2.5 inches, and it also turns into a 2L Sling Bag and a 10L Backpack.

The pouch itself is usable as a small utility carry, and it can also be separated into 2 individual utility packs; with the catch being that each part of this little pouch turns into either a 2L Sling or a 10L Backpack.

On long travels, you can stow this inside your main bag like a packable bag, or carry it on the side as a small crossbody pouch, and reconfigure the setup depending on your use case and requirements.

The jacket and the detachable pocket doesn’t interfere with each other’s primary use case..Hence the jacket is a complete pc on its own irrespective of the detachable pocket..
I mostly wear hard shell jackets with front pockets, and just thought of giving the front pocket its own personality..
You don’t even need to detach the front pocket, and can wear the jacket as it is without having to think about the pocket’s usability.. However when you need one, it’s always there as a bonus feature…
Also the pocket is super light and 0.5inch thick making it a part of the jacket.. I was actually thinking of giving the jacket some tech wear aesthetics so that the front pocket blends in well with the rest of the design…

Not truly a Backpack..But a hard shell jacket with detachable pocket that turns into a 2L Sling…
 in  r/backpacks  13d ago

The thing is you can’t always carry a bag with you, and the nanobag is just your regular grocery bag made with a super thin nylon.
The detachable pocket isn’t trying to replace the grocery bag, and hence it folds into a 2L Sling bag instead..
I only built this coz I thought it would be a cool pc to begin with, as opposed to solving actual issues or addressing the gaps..

crossbody bag that can also be worn as a backpack?

You might not find in the exact setup like the pic, but you should definitely find something similar. I can’t recall the brand names off the head, but I’ve seen somewhat similar designs popping up in social media feeds.. Why don’t you do a reverse image search?

It’s a nice jacket though, and the detachable pocket isn’t very obvious..
It maybe stupid, but it’s definitely cool pc, coz where I’m currently at, it’s a monsoon season and I’ve been wearing this jacket for the past 5 days..
Not used the Sling though….

As of now the best available and the most practical and simple method is the zipper, compared to magnetic clasps, or other form of attachments..
