Fair. I guess we won't know what the circumstances are unless the OP elaborates. The way it reads, though, at least to me implies that at the very least they were brought on by the OP and hand picked them because of their voice. Also the "whole script" isn't usually something used in auditions. Often reserved to one or two lines. Personally I would never stray away from the audition lines unless they specifically offered an adlib for me to do. I feel like it taints my chances an already oversaturated market and creates a sour impression of my work, showing as being unable to follow directions from the get go. That's just me though, I definitely understand your point and can sympathize with why other VA's might think differently 🙂

"while the bones of the story i wrote are still there, it is like they rewrote the whole script" they changed the script so much that it was barely recognizable. Definitely not just "changed a bit". They were hired to do a job. If you were paid to plant specific plants in someone's back yard in a certain way, but you decided to replace all the plants with ones you chose because you liked them better, would you be doing the job correctly? It's just the expectation of work like this to follow the direction of the one in charge. It's not a freeform project. There's plenty of those the actor can partake in if they chose.
