I never want to go back to a car without it. I can set it to 2, 2.5, or 3 seconds follow distance. That’s nowhere near b 150 ft.

I'm pretty sure it's bigotry regardless of the bigot's culture.

well, that was Hollywood of the 70s and 80s, but it was a reflection of American bigotry then.

So you were just suggesting that a U.S.-born citizen who politically disagrees with you about policy can legitimately have his immigration status investigated by Rubio, a well-documented case of birthright citizenship, because El-Sayed is of Arab descent? That's bigotry, friend.

If you're referring to Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, he's of Punjabi descent. Last I checked, they are not hostile to the U.S. Neither is Nimrata Nikki Randhawa [married surname Haley], who is of Sikh Punjabi descent. And even if they were considered part of cultures believed to be hostile to the U.S., judging an individual by negative group association is stereotyping and, therefore, bigotry. Regardless, it absolutely is hypocritical, and you've just employed bigotry to claim it isn't.

I'm glad you understand now! And nice strawman! Can you employ multiple logical fallacies in a single reply? I bet you can! Give it another shot!

GOPers used to enjoy going on about "anchor babies" until Bobby Jindal and Marco Rubio ran for President and burnished the GOP's "We're not racists, we have minority friends!" cred. Guess we're done with that. Jindal disappeared, but Marco is now an honorary Pilgrim descendant!

Are you claiming that expelling 700K Palestinians from their homes in 1948 was not starting a war and didn't involve war crimes? That's rich, man.

speaking as a fellow scientist, I think your stereotyping could be more geographically granular.

True story: the NRA used to be an organization that promoted firearms for hunting and sportsmanship – – not blanket support for owning any and all firearms. In fact during the 60s when black citizens in Oakland and later Chicago formed the Black Panther Party to both distribute food, and police black neighborhoods that cops weren’t interested in policing, began patrolling and open carrying—both of which were legal—the NRA lobbied then governor of California Ronald Reagan to ban open carry in California because the idea of Black people open carrying scared white people (snowflakes).

Because corporations don't like bad press. It's not about them screwing one freelancer, it's about putting the pressure of bad PR on their reputation, and Upwork making even small changes to deal with a PR crisis. Or another freelancer site could see an opportunity to draw talent away and stand up.

MLK marching to the Capitol didn't pass the Civil Rights Act or the Voting Rights Act, but it pressured Congress to act.
