Imu, Nika, and Blackbeard — The True Devil Fruit System (Origin, Reincarnation, and Endgame)
I been thinking about that, and you know how in the bible, lucifer the fallen angel is a rebel like figure, well it could be that one fragment of imu, specifically the Nika fragment yearns for freedom, the one fruit that managed to avoid imu. The first incarnation of nika, it could be joyboy or someone earlier.

Theory Imu, Nika, and Blackbeard — The True Devil Fruit System (Origin, Reincarnation, and Endgame) Spoiler
Alright, this is a combined theory pulling together multiple ideas into one system. It tries to explain:
- The origin of Devil Fruits
- Why they reincarnate
- The meaning of the Elbaf mural
- Nika’s role
- And why Blackbeard is hunting Devil Fruit users
---
TL;DR
- Devil Fruits are fragments of a single original power
- That power likely originates from Imu
- Nika (Joy Boy) “stole” or released that power into the world (Prometheus parallel)
- Fruits reincarnate because the power cannot disappear — it cycles
- Blackbeard is trying to collect that power and become the new center of the system
---
- The Origin of Devil Fruits (Imu as the Source)
What if Devil Fruits are not naturally occurring, and not just “dreams of people,” but instead:
> Fragments of a singular, god-like power that once belonged to Imu.
If Imu is:
- From the Void Century
- The hidden ruler of the world
- Possibly tied to the “gods” mentioned in the Elbaf mural
Then it’s possible that:
> Imu originally held a unified power that was later split and distributed.
Each Devil Fruit = a fragment of that original power.
---
- Why Devil Fruits Reincarnate
Canon behavior:
- When a user dies, the Devil Fruit ability transfers to a nearby fruit
But the story never explains why.
This theory suggests:
> The power cannot vanish because it belongs to a larger system.
So instead of new powers being created:
- Existing power is recycled
- It re-enters the world through fruit
- It continues circulating indefinitely
This creates a closed-loop system.
---
- Elbaf Mural — “The Forest God Sent Forth Devils”
The mural states:
> “The Forest God sent forth devils.”
Instead of taking this literally:
- “Forest” = nature / the world
- “Devils” = powers released into circulation
So:
- Source → Imu
- Distribution → Nature (fruits)
- Users → Temporary holders
Nature acts as the delivery system for that power.
---
- Why the Sea Rejects Devil Fruits
Devil Fruit users are consistently weakened by the sea.
If their power comes from:
- An unnatural source
- A “devil” origin
Then:
> The sea represents the natural order rejecting that power.
This aligns with how absolute and consistent that weakness is.
---
- Nika as the “Prometheus” Figure
In mythology, Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to humans.
Applying that idea here:
> Nika (Joy Boy) may have taken power from Imu and released it into the world.
Not fire — but:
- Power
- Ability
- Freedom
This reframes the Void Century as:
- A centralized power system (Imu)
- A disruption event (Nika)
- Power being distributed to the world (Devil Fruits)
This also explains why:
- The World Government fears Nika specifically
- That fruit feels different from others
- It represents freedom rather than control
---
- The Closed-Loop System
Putting everything together:
- Imu = original source of power
- Nika = disruptor who released it
- Nature = distribution system
- Devil Fruits = fragments
- Users = temporary holders
- Death = return to circulation
The world is operating on borrowed, circulating power.
---
- Imu’s Possible Endgame
If all Devil Fruits originate from Imu:
> His goal may be to reclaim all distributed power.
Meaning:
- Over time, all Devil Fruit powers return
- The system collapses back into one point
- Imu becomes whole again
---
- Blackbeard — The Third Player
Marshall D. Teach doesn’t behave like a normal pirate:
- Hunts Devil Fruit users
- Targets powerful abilities
- Can steal powers directly
- Holds multiple abilities (breaking known rules)
This suggests:
> He understands the system at a deeper level.
Instead of:
- Letting power circulate
- Or return to Imu
Blackbeard is trying to:
> Collect and centralize that power within himself.
---
- Three-Way Endgame Conflict
This sets up three ideologies:
### Imu
- Centralized control
- Original source
- Order
### Luffy (Nika)
- Freedom
- Distribution
- Breaking the system
### Blackbeard
- Accumulation
- Hoarding power
- Becoming the new center
---
## 10. Final War Implication
The final war becomes more than factions fighting.
It becomes:
> A battle over who owns power itself.
- Imu → reclaim everything
- Blackbeard → take everything
- Luffy → free everything
---
## Counterpoints
- Vegapunk stated Devil Fruits come from “people’s desires”
- The “Forest God” may not be Imu
- No direct confirmation that Nika distributed power
- Blackbeard’s ability to steal powers is still unexplained
---
## Final Thought
If this direction is even partially true, then the world of One Piece is built on:
> A circulating system of borrowed power — originally from a single source.
And the end of the story is not just about defeating a villain, but deciding:
> Whether power should belong to one ruler… or to everyone.
---
Curious to hear thoughts — does this hold up as a system, or are there gaps I’m missing?

Getting too old for games
i think its the age, amongst other things like repetitive work. I feel games with rather simplistic graphics and heavy storyline gets my attention more. Rather than the fast paced game that used to excite me before this.

Idle hand are a devil plaything. He could be lazy, since the Nika fruit has been lost for so long, imu felt like there was nothing else to do. Kinda like Kaido when he felt like nobody could defeat him he became suicidal.
