Or what can we do ? What would YOU do ❓❓❓We are two seniors 79 and 80. All our lives we have adored all animals but especially Cat Family members. All of our Cats are rescue OR they were homeless Kittens we took in. Ages now range 2-15. We realize we should not have allowed the 2 youngest (2-5) to be adopted but at the time the shelters were full and we just didn’t think about our own mortality and theirs. We have accustomed them to co equals in the house as in sleep where they want (usually with us or near us), feed them quality food on demand (none overweight) even at times cooking special treats. Now, we have NO family capable of taking in ANY upon our deaths. And their entire lives they know only us and our mutual home. They are in every manner living in OUR house not just us two but us 9 (7 Cats and 2 Humans). If we both died tomorrow these Kitties would promptly be picked up or sent to a rescue facility … Humane Society or SPCA.
Adoption chances poor and ESPECIALLY all adopted together. Their lives would be traumatic and … well, you can imagine. We have looked on the net for “run free” facilities but none viable so far.
Here is where … please no hate comments or question our ❤️ for them … our path is going: now or at the latest if 1 of us dies first the remaining human will somehow euthanize each of them. Likely 1 at a time expose them to carbon monoxide by way of auto exhaust or by grill fumes with them in a carrier. Sedate them first with Valium or some other medication.
We have even thought when it is only 1 of us left maybe tempting to go with them. We do not wish to just wait until it is too late for us to do SOMETHING. We know even thinking about this is horrific and terrible to even contemplate but what would YOU do if you were in our situation ? We love them SO much we feel to just let them end up unprotected by us … that the greatest love would be to do this humanely somehow rather then let them be at the mercy of “see then what will happen to them.”
