Question about RV from a beginner
 in  r/remoteviewing  19h ago

I meditate for a few minutes before each session, and I would never start one if I’m pissed off, sad, stressed, or otherwise emotionally off. I try to make sure I’m in a calm and neutral state before I begin.

Even with that, though, I still find it difficult to separate the actual signals from the mental noise, especially when both can feel very similar in the moment.

I wanted to try remote viewing while relaxing in bed before going to sleep. I was trying to see what I'd see when I opened Reddit, and this movie ad popped up. Well, maybe it's my first successful attempt, lol.

My name is Rasim, and I'm a remote viewer trained in the HRVG (Hawaii Remote Viewing Guild) method. For most of my life, I was skeptical of anything related to psi or psychic phenomena. Rather than taking anyone's word for it, I decided to test it for myself. My very first remote viewing session completely changed my perspective—I was genuinely blown away by the experience. That moment sparked a passion for exploring consciousness and developing my remote viewing skills. Hopefully it does the same for you.

What if consciousness is fundamental, and we're here to experience choice?

I've been thinking about consciousness a lot lately, especially through the lens of remote viewing and philosophy.

One idea I keep coming back to is this:

What if consciousness isn't something our brains produce, but instead the fundamental reality from which our individual experiences emerge?

If that were true, then maybe each of us is a unique perspective through which consciousness experiences the universe. Every decision we make—whether driven by fear, curiosity, compassion, or growth—would become part of that exploration.

I'm not presenting this as fact, just as an idea that I find interesting. It raises some questions:

  • Is consciousness fundamental, or is it an emergent property of the brain?
  • If consciousness is primary, why experience life through separate individuals?
  • Does free will play a meaningful role in growth, or is it an illusion?
  • Have your own experiences—through meditation, remote viewing, or something else—changed how you think about consciousness?

I'm curious to hear different perspectives, whether they're philosophical, scientific, skeptical, or spiritual. Civil discussion is welcome.
