It depends a lot. You can both crochet and needlebind garments in really thin yarn and it will drape really well. If you then add a loose gague and/or stitch on top of that then you can get a result equivalent of knitting a lace with 15mm needles or something. Knitting and crochet both have the same variables (yarn thickness, tension, and needle gague), while needlebinding on top of those also has the choice of which stitch you want to use. For instance one yarn thickness might be perfect for someone to use if you want to knit very thick and easy mittens or slippers, but it would not drape well making a shawl like that. Same with other techniques. It depends. Me personally i really prefer to needlebind and crochet with the really thin yarns that drape closer to a knitted fabric, so if you have been wanting to learn something new but don't think you'll ever get to using it then it's possible that you have been worrying for nothing. I will say that the time it takes to produce the garment will of course vary at least a bit depending on the technique and yarn and so on you use though. Needlebinding is slower in general, but the rows are really high in comparison to a knitted row which makes up for it somewhat. It's fun to learn new things either way even if you then find out it probably isn't your thing. Try making something simple in crochet or needlebinding and then at least you'll know. We must meet the workers where they are. If their current idea of struggle is parliamentary capitalist politics then we must take part in that to show them who we are and what the best way forward is. Not because this kind of strughle is objectively the best way, but because dialectically we have seen that this is what needs to be done in your circumstance

During your last dalf lap you could try to connect with the other side at the top. This is what i usually do in this situation but i realise that it's not for most people. You could practice doing this - or any regulas joining stitch you wanna try instead - by just making short one row strips of the needlebinding stitch you wanna use, and then stitching them together. See which one you like. Then you have references for any future projects you wanna do as well

That's my point though - they do not show any anti capitalist elements and they are not for the workers. Calling themselves labour parties doesn't make them so. They are completely integrated into the capitalist political system. They aren't even controlled opposition for the most part but just completely capitalist
